If you’re old so am i! My eldest is 11 and this one due any day.
I don’t actually feel old... I think it’s a good age to have our third, well I hope so anyway!! The DC are really excited and I can’t wait to see them with baby sister/brother.

I have also forgotten everything too though - this feels like it’s my first. Sort of 🤣

ParkheadParadise · 26/05/2020 13:45

I had dd2 at 38.
She was a complete surprise I didn't find out until I was 5mths pregnant.
23 years after having dd1.
Congratulations.

Highfivemum · 26/05/2020 13:46

I am in my 40’s and have a 5 week old. Also have five other DC .. felt better with the last 3 the than first 3. Age didn’t have any bearing on it at all except when my hospital bed was next to a 17 year old having her first 😳. She struggled really bad as she had assumed the baby would sleep 🤨 ... If your young enough to conceive your young enough to have the baby. Don’t let anyone say any different. Enjoy and good luck

PixieN · 26/05/2020 13:46

I’m 38 and pregnant with my first (and only lol)

BeMorePacific · 26/05/2020 13:47

My 38 year old friend found out she had a surprise pregnancy.. it turned out to be twins. Taking her from 2 kids to 4. She’s had them and is doing amazingly. You’ll be great xx

SeaToSki · 26/05/2020 13:50

I have 4 dc. Its wonderful, a lovely size of family. ..just think of all the new baby snuggles coming your way.

Grohnjant · 26/05/2020 13:53

Congratulations OP. My mum was 37 when she had me ... 56 years ago! It was considered old then but definitely not now . I had a fabulous childhood . My parents were really chilled and unfazed by anything . ( they’d done /seen it all before ) .
My mum lived until she was 91 too so had her for a long time .
Wishing you all well x

Mumtoone39 · 26/05/2020 13:55

Not old at 37- I am 40 and 33 weeks with number 2, had my first at 35. Congratulations with your pregnancy!

thefamousfiveplusone · 26/05/2020 13:59

Firstly congratulations OP!

I was in your position approx a year ago now. At the grand old age of 40 found myself expecting my 3rd, completely unplanned with a relatively new partner!

Fast forward to today and we could not imagine our lives without our now 5 month old. She is amazing and I the others dote on her.

Despite the shock and uncertainty all will work out as it should and you too won't be able to imagine life without your 4th Wink

My gran was 46 when she had my mum 😁. 37 is fine. I honestly know plenty of people who had kids in their 40's. It used to be more normal before the pill was invented. Now we (try to) plan earlier pregnancies because we have been warned about miscarriages and downs when having a baby later in life. People forget that the vast majority is still born healthy in older mums.

Megan2018 · 26/05/2020 14:14

I had my baby at 41 (conceived at 40), 37 is normal in my circles. Congratulations

Char2020 · 26/05/2020 14:17

I’m 32 and 14 weeks pregnant with my first. I plan to have a sibling for this one with at least a 4 year age gap so I’ll be a similar age with number 2. Late 30’s isn’t old at all, you’re only as old as you feel, besides you’ll have 37 years of wisdom to pass on 😁

Cheeseaandbiscuits · 26/05/2020 14:53

Always surprises me that majority of this site doesn't think late 30s is old to have a baby, especially a first. Though I see absolutely nothing wrong with it! My own mother had her last at 38 and said that she had much less energy in her mid 40s with a primary school aged child than she did in her 20s and early 30s. But also that she enjoyed and appreciated it a lot more. Swings and roundabouts for her but definitely no regrets. You'll be grand OP Smile

Hollyhobbi · 26/05/2020 15:06

One of my Aunts had an 18 year age gap!

Hollyhobbi · 26/05/2020 15:08

As in hers were 20, and 18 at the time her youngest was born!

gumball37 · 26/05/2020 19:20

I had my first at 25, second at 35, and third at 37. It's all good haha

sunlightflower · 26/05/2020 19:37

I know lots of people who were your age and older when they had their first! You're not old at all, don't worry. And congratulations Flowers

joystir59 · 26/05/2020 19:40

I am 62 and have no biological children, although I have parented an adopted son. I think you are all absolutely bloody miraculous!!!

Aworldofmyown · 26/05/2020 19:44

Had my youngest at 37. My kids were 10 and 6 at the time. Honestly I enjoyed that one the most!!!! We had a blast and still are, by this age you have no parenting fucks left to give 🤣

Crystal1975 · 26/05/2020 20:06

Meh, no problem at all!
I had my first at 26 and my second at 43 , very nearly 44
Second pregnancy was LOADS easier
I feel no different energy wise than I did when I had my first
And quite honestly , my little boy has just completely changed my life for the better , he’s an absolute treasure
I love every minute of it 🥰🥰

RoLaren · 26/05/2020 20:51

Had my first at 39, then one at 40 and one at 43. Thinking of trying for a fourth ...
