I had a scan two weeks ago where they saw a yolk sac measuring 3mm and dated me at less than six weeks.

Today I had another scan where the sac had grown to 8.3mm but still no embryo visible.

By my dates I'm at least 7w4d today (actually 10w going by lmp but I have long cycles and got a positive test on 27/4). I'm sure this must be a mmc but the clinic wouldn't confirm and have just told me to come back in another two weeks.

Had anyone had experience of this with any outcome, good or bad? I can't stand not knowing 😔

Sorry gestational sac measured 3mm then 8mm, but there was a visible told sac both times.

So sorry you're going through this. I suffered from an embryonic pregnancy a few years ago. My symptoms continued and body continued to grow a sac however it was empty. They can't confirm that is the case until the sac is a certain size I believe, I had to wait a week for it to be confirmed with another scan, by then the sac had started to shrink.

Two friends of mine believed they had the same however it really was that they were too early and a week or so later, things were developing normally.

I hope you have a positive outcome x

Thanks @FluffyBunnyTails I'm not feeling hopeful; I just want to start miscarrying if I'm going to, so that I can move on and try again.

@itssquidstella I ended up having surgery as my body just wasn't naturally miscarrying. I was 10 weeks and wanted it over with. It was very quick and painless, I was in hospital for the morning and home just after lunch. I believe it's usually something that happens once if it does

I hope they're still offering surgical management at the moment; I can't face the prospect of bleeding for weeks. I've had some brown discharge but showing no signs of 'proper' bleeding :/

Hi @itssquidstella I am sorry to hear what you are going through. I had a scan on Thursday and I thought I was 7weeks but the scan only showed 5weeks. Sac and yolk both visible but have to go back in 2 weeks to check things are developing correctly. The last said she can’t say for certain if it’s healthy and I just have my dates wrong (which is possible as I only just came off the pill and no idea of cycle length) or if it wasn’t meant to be.

I am trying to remain positive as I have noticed a few people have been through the same thing and the outcome has been a beautiful baby at the end.

Try and remain positive and rest up x

Thanks @MayBug2020. I'm pretty sure of when I ovulated so not feeling too positive - also, the sac only growing 5mm in12 days doesn't look good, I don't think. Fingers crossed you get a happy outcome :)
