Hi I'm just over 18week got my 20week scan next Friday I'm so worried I don't feel any symptoms at all don't feel any movement and just wondering if anyone else has been through this I had 3 miscarriages last year and think that's why I feel so worried it's all I think about day in day out x

Totally normal so try not to worry.

Is this your first (successful) pregnancy? It's easy to miss the early movements when you don't know what you're looking out for, plus you may have an anterior placenta which would make them harder to feel.

If you haven't had any bleeding then you've nothing to worry about.

Try not to worry too much (easier said than done, I know). Feeling your first movement tends to be felt sometime between weeks 18-24, so you’re at the earlier stage of when you might start to feel something.

I did feel my first movement at 18 weeks but I would say I only just about noticed it. I’m 21 weeks now and even now the movements are not regularly felt yet although I normally feel him at least once a day (or I should say at night, that tends to be when he is most active and Im more likely to feel him). Midwife said this is normal at this stage. They tend to be concerned if you haven’t felt anything by 24 weeks.

Hi I felt like this between 18-20 weeks. The sickness and exhaustion had gone, but movements didn’t start until 21 weeks. It’s not nice. Best wishes

Aaah OP Im the same. 19 weeks and haven't felt "pregnant" for about 10 days. I have my 20 week scan next Tuesday so crossing my fingers too and hoping this is the calm part of pregnancy!

Prettylittlelady · 25/05/2020 10:38

Hi @Becky19922011 I have my 20 week scan this week, I’m 19+5 today. I’m also worried but I think that’s natural. Was your 12 week scan all fine?
I don’t feel the symptoms the way I did earlier in pregnancy anymore like the extreme fatigue and being sick has stopped now. I’ve started to feel what I think are flutters in the last 10 days or so. It’s not all day or anything like that, mainly in the evening like a previous poster mentioned.

@Becky19922011 Sorry to hear about your previous losses. I’m currently at about the same stage as you with my first and I feel the exact same way. No longer feeling sick etc, boobs are still a bit tender, and feeling no movements yet. Definitely feeling very anxious although I have no reason to believe there is anything wrong. I am plus sized to begin with so feel like I because I don’t really have a bump yet that’s throwing me off too!

You might have an anterior placenta (which is totally normal), but means you’re unlikely to feel kicks early on.
I know in my 1st pregnancy I didn’t feel kicks until week 20. But everyone is different.
I hope your scan goes well xxx

ablisha · 25/05/2020 20:19

I had a scan today and they said because my placenta is at the front, it could be around week 26 until I feel anything so don't worry! It's still early

Danielle95lab · 26/05/2020 09:49

We have our 20 week scan the same day! I'm feeling the exact same, a bit worried as I feel so normal now. I don't have a big bump either, in fact it's barely grown in the past few weeks which puts me on edge. However, this is my first so not sure what's normal and what isn't. I do think I've felt baby move but I can't be 100% certain. It's definitely an awkward stage in pregnancy. Only another 9 days to go till we see our little ones xx
