Bath support

Hi all..

I've been looking around for a bath support as I think it would be a bit easier to use for bathing a newborn as a FTM.

Are there are any that come recommended?

Or any tips from those who thought a bath tub was better?

Angel bath seat without a doubt for me. I used the baby bath once then got that. She is now nineteen months and still jumps on it to wash her massive long hair. I find it easier to do than pouring water in her eyes.

Even took it on holiday, great thing.

Just googled the one I have is Angel soft touch bath support, as opposed to seat.

Hi, I used this for my now 3 year old and will use again once baby arrives.
Actually this looks like an improved version of the one I've got. The print was different and it didn't have that extra piece. I don't think they still do the one I've got, it was from argos though.

I felt confident using it as baby lied comfortably in it. Rather than slipping around in a baby bath.

Also I'm intending on putting my 3 year old and baby in the bath together using this.

I assumed you could only use it up to 6 months

Angel care has been great until a couple of weeks ago when my 6mo tried to bum shuffle out of it! I now use a padded bath mat and he goes in the main bath with just an inch or two of water

Angel Care is great. I bought 3 others before I found the Angel Care one and they were useless.

@Shmithecat2 I read a few reviews that were saying the max water line doesn't really reach the baby..no suction pads at the bottom so it moves if the baby is wriggly and leaves marks on the baby's back.

Did you find any of that?

Angelcare soft one is what I used. Only used it for first 6-8 weeks though then found it easier to just hold him.

No marks on his back, and I always filled it a little above the line so baby was more covered. Baby was never unattended so didn't see an issue with doing this.

Another vote for the Angelcare one. Used it with both DC till they were sitting up. Hated bathing them when staying at anyone else's who didn't have one, I never got how you hold them in one arm and they to wash them. Way too slippery and they end up having 30 second baths. Angelcare is great and I was delighted to be able to pass it on when we were done with it.

Oh yes she is to big for it but knows she can lie back to get her hair washed and it doesn't go in her eyes. I'm obviously there with her. Then she gets off and sits on non slip mat.

I used the skip hop 3 in 1 bath, it starts with almost a sling support so you fill the bath and they are almost lifted above it so you can gently wash them, it then moves down into a lower support so they can be in the water, and then remove completely and straight in the tub. It was great and we use it outside now in the summer, or fill with balls to play in. I bought a bath dam so we only have to fill half the bath now, and a cheap seat from Amazon until he was ready to just sit in the bath.

I used a baby bath (with built in support) with my first and got on with it fine, used it for maybe 4 months before he was too big.

With my second, we used the baby bath for about 3 weeks, just felt easier and more contained for those first anxious baths. We since started using the Angel Care bath support in the bath as we're running it for my toddler every night anyway. I'd probably find it annoying running the bath and having to take the party upstairs if it was just my newborn, but it's nice doing bath time for them together.

I don't think it would fit. It is designed for going in the normal bath. I never got the point of a baby bath because you have to had on to them and it's really awkward. We got the Angelcare specifcally so we could use our normal bath.

It could go in a baby bath, but there would be very little room. I liked it in the big bath, I could get in with him. Ds loved the seat.

We used the shnuggle bath and loved it! I had 2 hands free to splash/wash his hair, the rubber back held him up and there's a wedge at the bottom to stop them slipping down. When I washed his bottom I would hold him over my arm. Also meant only filling a baby bath rather than a full one

@FluffyBunnyTails Ive been considering the Schnuggle - is it suitable from birth? I've seen mixed feedback that it's only really suitable once the baby can support their own head. What did you think?

@kersh33 I used it from birth, I didn't realise they say it's not but it was perfect. I've kept it for my second baby too. The rubber back holds the baby's head in place.
I would sit on the floor with the bath so I didn't have to be leaning over the main bath and only stopped using it when my ds was trying to climb out of it.

I also read the baby's head would need to be propped up with your arm as a newborn in the first few weeks so I had ruled it out for that reason..
