Signs of labour

Hi all,

I am 36+2, but am due to go for induction at 37 weeks. Over the last two days, I have needed to poo lots (three times so far today), whereas I have been very constipated for the whole pregnancy. I am suddenly exhausted. And i have been having cramps in my tummy.

Firstly, sorry for the TMI. Secondly, are these signs that labour is imminent?

Watching with interest as I've felt really tired and crappy the last few days and have also had to take fibrogel daily to help go to the loo but the last 3 days I've gone twice a day which is most unusual. I've been getting some sharp pressure pains deep in my pelvis like baby is burrowing right down, too. I'm 37+6 so wondering if my body is gearing up for something.

Yes, I had that. My ds was born naturally and very quickly at 32 weeks.

I needed to poo a lot and apparently it's your body getting ready for birth.
I had minimal cramping but a lot of pain in my thighs

Sorry for tmi but it is common to have a "clear out" to get ready for labour, could be 2days but also could be 2weeks.

Hi, I’m 37 + 4 and have had/been feeling the same since yesterday morning. I definitely think it’s my body getting ready. However, I want a home birth and they aren’t being reinstated till the end of next week so I’m hoping my little man can stay put for another week.

Im the same at 36w, im quite glad to be clearing out though hopefully means less comes out whilst pushing when it really does happen lmao

Thanks all, I love Mumsnet for being able to ask questions like this. I'll keep my fingers crossed it is my body getting ready. I have 4 days till induction so if my body is getting ready a little bit, I assume that can only help!

Hi, I had this a couple of weeks ago but nothing yet, 37 weeks now. I think sometimes you just get a lot of build up and your body has a clear out, especially in the last few weeks x
