Hi! Just wondering whether it's safe to take amoxicillin in pregnancy? My GP prescribes it and was very blasé about it - he was just like 'yeah should be fine' 🙄😂 and obviously I know it's better not to have an infection but I just feel so bad even putting a tablet in my mouth 😪. Has anyone taken it during early pregnancy and been fine? Thank your

As a Pharmacist I have given Amox to quite a few of my pregnant patients. There are no known harmful effects in pregnancy, just make sure if you do start taking it to finish the course :)

I was prescribed Amoxicillin during my pregnancy. My doctor specifically looked up different antibiotics on their computer database to show me what the guidelines were for each one during pregnancy because I was concerned too. Lots of others weren’t suitable for use but that definitely was 😊

Thank you - it's for a niggling throat infection which I know will get worse but I still feel so guilty. Thanks for the replies!
