What do first movements feel like?

I’m 17 and a half weeks and for the last week I think I’ve felt movement. I can’t describe exactly what it is like, except for a combination of a rolling feeling, tad bit like wind and a pressurey/heavy feeling just below my belly button. It’s really hard to describe and it seems to happen most when I’m in the car! It feels like before you break wind 😂 but then theirs no fart if that makes sense 😂. Also sometimes it’s like a bubbly feeling.

Mine felt a bit like a bubble of wind but the giveaway was they were always in the same place whereas wind kind of moves through! They felt like a rolling or a pop, or pressure that came and went suddenly, then some a bit like an electric shock but without the pain is the best way I can describe it.

Like popping pop corn :)

KellyHall · 22/05/2020 17:44

I had bubbles/flutters.

Lie on your back and put a teddy or something on your baby bump, see if it moves when you have your funny feeling.

For me it felt like someone was tickling me from the inside witj a feather, quick subtle at the start. I know a lot of people say it's like popping or bubbles too but for me it was a tickly feeling and I felt my first at 17 weeks so it probably is the baby Smile

Like little bubbles popping, then popcorn, then more swishy/rolly.

From memory ( long time ago !) Like a butterfly was trying to escape from your stomach.

KellyHall I’ve done just that! I put an Ewan the sheep on my belly and it felt like a rolling sensation/ heavy feeling it was the strangest feeling but amazing! Thankyou for the tip! X

For me it felt like someone was flicking me from the inside.

PhoenixBuchanan · 22/05/2020 19:25

Mine was like a pulsing or very gentle thudding inside.

Hunnybears · 22/05/2020 19:28

Congratulations 😀

Aww how lovely

Yep I think it’s most likely your little one moving around. It’s hard to know with your first as you’ve got nothing to compare with.

Like little flutters and then they gradually get stronger to the point there is no mistaking them! You get a boot enough to to jolt you. Incredible.

MooseBreath · 22/05/2020 19:55

Mine felt like gas bubbles, sort of like I had a carbonated drink in my stomach. Didn't feel anything until nearly 22 weeks though!

BeMorePacific · 22/05/2020 20:25

For me, it is a little like when you feel a pulse in a random place. But it’s usually just 1 or 2. I haven’t been getting a lot xx

Viletta · 23/05/2020 00:17

I've got anterior placenta plus fat on my belly so didn't feel any subtle sensations. I started feeling kicks like a random pulse or a gold ball rolling at 19w

Indigogirl88 · 23/05/2020 00:32

I'm 20 weeks, I thought I felt something around 16 weeks as well like someone flicking from the inside. They're more like pre fart feelings now 😂

Strokethefurrywall · 23/05/2020 00:46

Awww I'm just remembering the feel of my two babies when I first felt them. Around 21-22 weeks because they were both pretty small babies.

Felt like a swooping sensation, like I was going on a rollercoaster and just lost my stomach. For ages I couldn't work out but realized it was DS1 rolling. Then it felt like tiny little bubbles.

Then it turned into full on kicks in my bladder and vagina 🤣
