High platelet count

My friend has had bloods done (appx 29 weeks) as she has fainted a couple of times, it's come back with high platelet count but she is unsure what it means and they haven't really explained it to her, can anyone shed any light on this for me please? TIA x

Sometimes it can mean you have a small infection somewhere that your body is fighting off x
