Hi

Can anyone recommend prenatal yoga and exercise videos from first trimester onwards. On you tube so can be done easily from home.

Thanks in advance

If you're happy to pay, I really like this app for yoga prenatal.downdogapp.com/web
You can customise each session to suit you, e.g. more focus on pelvic floor or back strength etc.

I second the prenatal down dog app! It's brilliant - you get a new workout each time so you don't get bored and it mixes up the moves. I was a complete novice to yoga and with the full explanation I've found it easy to follow. It's really the right balance between stretching and strength for me (I've been using it all through the second trimester and about to head into the third) and I feel it's really helped to avoid all the aches and pains due to the centre of gravity shifting etc...

Thanks for the link. Down dog is offering a free subscription until June 15 so will get some practice in before I decide.

Thanks for the tip

I downloaded the down dog app too based on these recommendations - did a session this morning and was really happy with it. I find a lot of the youtube ones super annoying but this was no nonsense and I love that you can tailor so much!

Great shout @kersh33 and @Lincs90 Grin

Yeah I did a session this morning too and loved it. So will definitely subscribe.
Thanks for the recommendation

I second bodyfit by Amy for prenatal and postnatal after. I swear her videos are the only reason I got my stomach muscles back.

kersh33 · 26/05/2020 20:18

@sk283 and @LoveSunshine01 I'm so glad! I'm a bit evangelical about it now I've tried it. I'd tried YouTube videos but found it.m a bit tedious to keep trawling though to find different ones to mix it up a bit. Now I just have one app I use.

My sister is now using the proper yoga app to get back into yoga and is also very much enjoying too by all accounts.

Another vote for BodyfitByAmy! I find it reassuring having an instructor who is pregnant in her prenatal exercise videos. Sarah Beth Yoga also has some prenatal videos I've been enjoying, and on Instagram (with some things saved on her IGTV section) I like BumpsAndBurpees who is currently in her 3rd trimester.

Have you done the body fit by Amy in your first trimester.

Im 4 +4, so super early. But also 40+ and have a high BMI of just under 28. I was at risk of GDM last time I was pregnant so was trying to lose weight before we got lucky.
I would like to continue to exercise and maybe lose weight especially in this first trimester, so would love your opinions x

I'm 24 weeks and have been doing her videos for around 6 weeks ish so just in my second trimester, but I think they'd be fine for all trimesters. They're just the right level of not being too intense but leaving you feeling like you've had a good workout/done something. She gives you different options too depending on your fitness level/whether your new to exercise and your trimester. The 20 min pre natal cardio workout is a good one to start with I'd say
