Kings College Hospital London- Private Care/Delivery

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all keeping well.

I am thinking about going under private pregnancy care for the delivery of my first baby at Kings College Hospital London.
I never seem to see anyone post about Kings for private delivery whereas many people mention other London hospitals. Does anyone know why this hospital may not be mentioned so much?
Also does anyone had any experience of private pregnancy care/delivery at Kings?

Many thanks :)
Anna

Hi @Annasouthlondon
I wondered if you delivered privately at Kings? I am currently looking into it, and cannot find much information. Would be so grateful to hear your experience if you chose this route (or why not?)
Thank you

Hi @Patricia256, I delivered at Kings but stayed on the NHS system. I had had very good prenatal care so I decided not to switch to private. The delivery itself and recovery ward (I had a c-section) were amazing! If in hindsight I could have done anything differently I would have tried to pay for a private room for overnight if it meant I would have got more post labour care- there didn't seem to be enough midwives to patients ratio on the ward.

Anna :)
