Swelling down there?

This is my second pregnancy - DDT's is 20 months old. I'm 17 weeks and have felt and increased heavy feeling today down there. Had a quick look and my vulva is all swollen on one side. It doesn't seem to be on the other side. I don't know if ta relevant but it's the side my past episiotomy scar is on. Anyone had this? Freaked out!

Could it be thrush? I had thrush at the beginning of my pregnancy and it was swollen, only one side as well. I knew it was thrush because I had it with my first pregnancy, but check with your GP to confirm it. My GP prescribed me canesten pessaries and it went down in 5 days or so.

It is vulvar varicosities. Basically a varicose vein. It isn't the most comfortable but goes almost instantly after baby is born. Had it with my last pregnancy. Just day to midwife at your next check but it isn't anything to worry about,

Yup, swelling here too. This is my second pregnancy and have had it both times. Oddly I don't get swollen ankles etc, just swollen bits 😆 I even have a throbbing vein on my upper inner thigh. Apparently it's all normal as you get more blood flow and especially in your lower body. I think it was worse in the second trimester than now in my third.

Thanks everyone - there's no issues with the skin and no lumps or anything g like that so not sure if t would be varicose vein if there's nothing actually wrong with the skin? It just seems like general swelling. I'm glad to hear I'm not alone - hoping it doesn't get much worse

Since the second trimester the bottom of mine just hangs low and seems swelled. Glad I’m not the only one.all seems quite droopy!

Eugh me too. My partner finds it hilarious. I swell all over down there and even my skin on pubic bone looks podgy. I had a reduction when I was much younger for medical reasons and just assumed this made it more sensitive as it gets a little tender by the scars sometimes... I avoid lacy underwear, and if I can potter around with loose trousers or shorts. It seems to help a little.

I'm 30 weeks and have an 11 month old and I've been very 'aware' of my episiotomy scar lately. It's probably swollen too but I can't see down there to look!
