Hi,
I'm 7 weeks pregnant and working myself up into a frenzy.
I've had no cramps, no bleeding, no spotting.
Usual all day nausea, tiredness, bloating, dark nipples.
I got a strong BFP 11dpo,and a 2-3 the day before my period.
One healthy pregnancy previously.

Would I have such symptoms if i was to have a MMC, I've got a scan next week so just got to hold out for that, but it's driving me crazy.

I've ended up telling more people than id like at work, as I'm a nurse to protect myself.

I don't know @i don't know, @Poocat120 but I'm in a similar position - about 7 weeks and not having much in the way of sumptoms . I have a scan booked for Monday so I'll know either way soon enough. Could you maybe think about booking a private scan? It's such an anxious time :/

itssquidstella · 20/05/2020 19:30

@Popcat120 not poocat, sorry!

Yes I've got a private scan booked for Tuesday next week, not long to wait. Holding out for nearer to 8 weeks.

I have got usual pregnancy symptoms, (not as bad as my last pregnancy mind you)
Just wondered if you'd still get strong symptoms with a MMC...

I had no signs of a missed miscarriage. I got heavy bleeding at 9 ( nearly 10 weeks) and that’s when I found out . The baby never made it past 6 weeks 😔

When they checked my HCG levels in the hospital they told me they were on track for 10 weeks along , which makes sense as I had all the symptoms. My body still thought I was pregnant even though baby never made it .

I’m currently pregnant , 14 weeks , and have barely felt a single symptom 🤷‍♀️

This is easier said than done but there’s no point overthinking it or stressing because you really don’t know until you know ( if that makes sense ).

@Popcat120 with my MMC I had symptoms right up until we found the baby was no longer with us. It was another week until I took the medication, so I wonder if some of the symptoms were ‘in my head’

I would say the symptoms came on stronger and quicker than this pregnancy. For example I felt sick from around the time we found out - where as I didn’t feel sick until 6+ weeks this time and it’s progressed as the week has gone on.
My boobs were so so so sore straight away with the MMC, but it’s been more gradual with this pregnancy... 🤷🏼‍♀️. I also had spotting at 5 weeks and on and off and cramps pretty much consistently! The midwife reassured me it was ok and normal.
I would say I had a gut feeling from really early on, I’ve felt anxious this time, but NOTHING in comparison to how I felt with the MMC!

I’d say you are probably fine, we know MMC are less common than natural miscarriages, so it is only a small percentage where they are missed.
Although I know that the evidence around symptoms probably isn’t very reassuring!

@milkshake54 thank you.
I just need to calm down and wait for my scan.
I've had both types of pregnancy you describe. With my DS I felt terrible sick and had food aversion from before my period was due, and it lasted til 17 weeks, he's 20 months now.
This pregancy, its come and gone, I think slowly ramping up now from About 6 weeks.
Ah Tuesday can't come quick enough.
I was silly to book a 7.45 pm one... Going to be a long day!

Honestly - I’ve had two mmc. I never had any cramps, spotting or bleeding. I also had pregnancy symptoms (sore breasts, dizzy spells, sickness etc). With a MMC your body still produces pregnancy hormones. I know it’s difficult but you really can’t read too much into symptoms/lack of symptoms. A scan is the only way to know.

Fannysyouraunt93 · 20/05/2020 21:51

I definitely had a gut feeling with my MMC. Had bleeding at around 6 weeks too then again at 10 weeks. Baby had died at 9+3. Symptoms didn’t really amount to anything. But then I’m supposedly 14 weeks tomorrow and only found out last week so go figure!

Minster2012 · 20/05/2020 22:02

I had a MMC at 5.5, after IVF I felt glowing, cold, had cramps, felt, well, something, until I got a weird feeling about 7 weeks in that maybe I should be feeling sick or something but realised I hadn’t really felt anything in a while. I had a scan at what should have been 7.5 that confirmed it.

So I’d say the fact you feel things is good.

Fingers crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻🍀💕

I had no clue when I had mine. Even after the scan which showed no heartbeat I was still getting strong symptoms. Good luck with you scan - it is more than likely everything is fine x

I had a mmc last year and I didn't lose any symptoms whatsoever. I went for a scan at 8 weeks where I found out. I had my surgical management at 12 weeks (baby never went naturally, no pains etc) and I had symptoms the whole time until surgery was over.
