Hi everyone,
I am currently 5 weeks and 1 day pregnant, all I'm craving currently is fried chicken, sweet things ect... I usually eat a good balanced diet but currently I'm struggling to even want to eat anything healthy . Obviously I know it ls good to eat well during pregnancy, does anyone have any advice on how to stop the cravings ect. Thank you x

All I would say is don't beat yourself up about eating a 'balanced healthy diet' i did at the start of my pregnancy when the whole coronavirus stuff started and I remember walking out of Tesco and sitting in the car crying because half the 'balanced healthy diet' items weren't in stock! I've been suffering with bad sickness so I see it as I eat what I can, I've gone completely off veg but I do try eat some sort of fruit each day! I've been craving hola hoops and fizzy sweets! Do try eat healthy but don't stress about it too much!

eat what you can stomach make up for it later. When you feel better then eat healthy

I eat what I want when I want. Sweets, chocolate, takeaways. Genuine crap!
It's whatever your body will allow, especially if you've got morning sickness or nausea.
As pp said, don't beat yourself up about it.
I eat relatively well with my 3 meals a day and eat crap in between!
If you can get some exercise in too to even put anything crap that you eat then it will help.
Say that I walk a lot but that's it! I do pregnancy yoga when I need to calm my mind but other than that I can't be bothered! 😂
Lockdown will do strange things to when you're pregnant! 😂😂

Agree with PPs - don't beat yourself up at all! Just eat whatever you can at this stage! When I had my booking appointment, my midwife started talking to me about getting my 5 a day... I told her I couldn't even look at a vegetable! She laughed and said it was fine and not to worry at all at that stage, just to take my pregnancy vitamin and said 'you'll feel better in a few weeks'. I didn't believe her, I felt so awful, but for what it's worth she was right! And oh my goodness, the despair of trying to find one thing I could stomach in the shops just before/at the start of lockdown, with raging hormones!!! So glad things have calmed down with food buying now!

My midwife basically said don’t worry about it in the first trimester - as long as you’re drinking plenty and eating enough to keep you going the rest of it doesn’t really matter. For about a month I ate nothing except marmite toast and bananas.

Yep as others have said don’t worry. If you’re taking a pregnancy vitamin it will make sure you’re not lacking in anything. It’s more important to be relaxed and not stress. I ate slit of random crap especially early on when I had terrible nausea

My midwife told me not to worry about what I eat at all in the first trimister. She said anything you can stomach is fine, told her all I can eat is crisps everything was making me sick. She said as long as you can drink and eat anything that’s fine until you’re further on you can implement more healthy things in Smile

Sorry that meant get fluids down like water. Not drink anything GrinGin !! Just read it back and realised how it sounded x
