Surely you can use any good quality sun cream? Pregnant with my 3rd and never given it’s second thought.

Not something I have ever thought about and I have probably used a lot of suncream in pregnancy, especially putting it on my kids. Surely it’s better to wear it and protect yourself from the sun than not, especially as your skin can be more sensitive to the sun.

Out of pure curiosity I've just checked the SPF we have at home and it doesn't state anywhere that it's not to be used on pregnant women.
I've never heard of certain brands of SPF not being allowed to be used on pregnant women, so if it's true, it's new to me!

ShambalaHambala · 20/05/2020 21:08

Never heard of this. Are you sure OP?

You need to look for mineral suncreams

BabyOne90 · 21/05/2020 10:00

Yeah when I googled there are certain ingredients to avoid.. also it even shows some in baby sunscreen so how is this right 🤯

What happens when pregnant women put suncream on?

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 21/05/2020 12:28

I am and have always put on whatever we have in the house- usually a boots own brand! Shouldn’t spend too much time in the sun is probably a bigger concern than the sunscreen

Caldey11 · 23/05/2020 16:56

@BabyOne90 Green People make suncream safe for pregnancy, all their products are free from the usual nasties and safe for pregnant women

3isthemagicnumber3 · 23/05/2020 18:45

Who says certain suncream isn’t safe for Pregnant women?

GreyishDays · 23/05/2020 18:46

If you google most things you can find someone saying it’s not safe.
