Hi all,
Haven't been on here in awhile. I'm currently waiting to go back in for the second scan on Friday. Last one I was in EPU with some bleeding and could see baby in right place with a heartbeat just that it looked quite small for my dates so wanted me back to see how things progressed. So have been trying to keep busy.
I'm currently 8+2 and half expecting that to change on Fri if things are ok! I'm so sick too, not throwing up but no real appetite and no interest in much food. It's actually been so hard. Have a 20 month old to run after all day as my husband is out at work! So by evening I am wiped! Glad to be feeling sick as I am taking it as a positive sign but also wouldn't mind a break from it.

@Jellybean252 thinking of you today and hope all goes well for you. FX. I had bleeding at 6 weeks and some pain in lower abdomen and all was ok at internal scan (bar the size) so FX for you that all goes ok today.

MissHoney85 · 27/05/2020 14:24

@Littlepeas2 I also went off food after finding out I was pregnant. I didn't feel sick, but like you said - I normally love food and think about it all the time, I just had little interest! My appetite seems to have come back though, so I don't know if it was just a phase or shock / anxiety in those initial days.

Skyla01 · 27/05/2020 14:36

@Littlepeas2 same here- I have gone off a lot of food. I'm still able to eat a normal amount just now so hope it doesn't get much worse! At the weekend I'm going to buy lots of bland beige food- that kind of stuff isn't so bad.

Jellybean252 · 27/05/2020 15:16

So I'm back from the scan..

The scan showed I'm still pregnant and it's in the right spot. However it looks more 5 weeks than 8. However, I could still be mis carrying but there's no way of telling. They told me to keep an eye on the bleeding it gets really heavy with big clots I need to go into A&E.

They've booked me in for another scan in two weeks time. So another waiting game I guess..

So girls, I need some advices.... Dp wants to tell his sister that I'm pregnant. He is very close to her and really wants her to be involved from the starts. He was going to just give her a call and tell her like that, no big deal lol. But I know her a little, she would be ecstatic to hear the news and I wanted to prepare a little surprise to announce it to her. But the thing is, few years ago she lost her little boy a few days before term and had to deliver him. I cannot even imagine the pain she's been through and she is obviously forever grieving over him. So dp is worried she is gonna be affected somehow by the news and wants to keep it very tame down. Do you think I should just keep it simple, maybe give her a card or something or should I go with dp's plan? I find it a little sad to just tell her over the phone like that and I know for sure she would be over the moon learning the news... It's his sister so obviously I will respect what he wants but what do you guys think? What should I do??

lilypad88 · 27/05/2020 15:30

@Jellybean252 oh how stressful!... What was their overall feeling about it? Ohh I really hope it will just pass 🙏🏻 how are you feeling otherwise? Is the bleeding still the same? X

Baba11 · 27/05/2020 15:35

@Jellybean252 could it be that you got your dates wrong? Did they see a heartbeat, or is it to early for that? It is still a long wait, how do you feel about it?

@lilypad88 I would tell her over the phone that way she can react to it how she wishes. If you are face to face with her she may become overwhelmed. My sis in law had a still born and I wouldn't tell her via a card I would speak to her. Obviously you know her best chick

S1ngap0re · 27/05/2020 16:19

Hi all!
I recently found out am due in Jan, excited but nervous! Has anyone had any clearblue week tests which have gone down, not up? Did one Saturday, was 2-3 weeks. Then Monday said 3 weeks+. But today (weds) now saying 2-3 weeks again - so bit worried as to it going down. I had a bit of light bleeding on Sunday, but hospital told me not to come in due to covid unless bleeding continued. So unsure if still pregnant - and the tests not helping! Anyone had this?

@Babyboom1990 I'm confused, was the message for me? I didn't realise there was another @Lilypad here 😄 but anyway, I'm in a similar situation, I've been out of job since the covid, and got 2 final interviews next week, fingers crossed I get the job but then that means I'm gonna have to tell them I'm pregnant :s don't know what to do about that tbh...

@Baba11 yea you might be right here... well that's what do told me, he'd rather tell her over the phone so she can digest the news her own way away from people. Might just do that then... Last thing I want is to upset her :(

@Lilypad2020 they honestly weren't giving much away. The bleeding has lessened but it's still there. Just need to keep an eye on it to see if it increases at all. And with regards to your situation I think you should tell her, a card is a good idea. I'm sure she would feel worse if she knew you were walking on eggshells to tell her. She sounds like a decent person so although it will hurt her regardless she will be happy for you both xx

@Babyboom1990
Aww it's so nice to hear your sister had a happy ending hopefully it's the same for me!

@baba11 I always thought I wasnt 8 weeks if you calculate it from the day of conception. The pregnancy test said 3+ weeks and then my GP calculated i was 6 weeks pregnant from my last period. So I was very confused but went along with it. There was no heartbeat because it was too early at this stage they were just looking at the yolk to see if it's in the right place.

@Ivoryjane
I had an internal scan too which is what gave a little more detail. However it's too early to tell anything yet. I'm pregnant so far but I could be miscarrying. We'll find out in 2 weeks to see if the pregnancy has progressed

MissHoney85 · 27/05/2020 16:50

@S1ngap0re try not to worry, I don't think those tests are particularly accurate. Was today's test first morning urine? That can make a big difference.

lilypad88 · 27/05/2020 16:51

@Babyboom1990 haha yea.. thanks then! Hehe

Isn't it 15 weeks by law we have to tell a company? Yea I will do the same, I have to work lol I can't stay out of job for much longer lol

Congrats on the new job then!! 🥳

Scot96 · 27/05/2020 17:01

@MissHoney85 thanks - and yes both were first urine of the day tests. I’m just hoping midwife gets in contact soon and can put mind at rest.

MayBug2020 · 27/05/2020 17:27

@Babyboom1990 I had an early scan last week but unfortunately it showed I was a lot earlier than I thought so have been referred to the EPU and have a second scan this Friday. So I have all my fingers crossed to see some development.

Lollipop93 · 27/05/2020 17:28

Hey! I think GP’s etc always base first estimates weeks on first day of last period. But I think sometimes this can cause confusion with how many weeks you actually are. For example the day of my last period was 12th work so based on that I am 6+1. But I was telling and keeping a close eye on when I ovulated which was the 27/28th April. So technically this would make me 4 weeks... it’s such a big difference at this stage. So if I went for an early scan now it wouldn’t show up what I was looking for? Anyone else found this? This is all such a minefield ...

Lollipop93 · 27/05/2020 17:29

12th april*

Lollipop93 · 27/05/2020 17:30

Omg I need to learn to proof read I was temping** not telling

Lollipop93 · 27/05/2020 17:35

Also is anyone still going in warm baths is that allowed in early pregnancy?

BabyDust13 · 27/05/2020 18:18

@Lollipop93 I'm still having warm baths my back has been really aching and they help a lot

Hi @Lollipop93 Our dates are very similar! I also temp so know I ovulated 27th April-CD19. LMP was 9th April. my temping app says I am 6+2 due 18th jan and the nhs go by your last period assuming that you ovulate on CD14 so would say I'm 6+6 due 14th jan. hope that helps, I agree it's a minefield!

I'm also still having warm ish baths. Apparently you should avoid getting so hot you sweat or your skin goes pink.

I have also finally folded and booked a window to the womb scan for when I'm 8/9 weeks. Exciting! Thank you all for the recommendations.

@Jellybean252 so sorry to hear about your stressful time it must be awful. I hope the messages on here bring you comfort 💕
