Have you been diagnosed?

Mummyspider27 · 19/05/2020 20:52

I have total placenta previa and been referred to the specialist of fetal medicine as risk of it being accreta due to previous section x

The latest episode of life and birth this evening had a lady with this I think. Could be worth a watch if you think it will help x

My trust are a major centre for accreta/percreta. We have generally very good outcomes. Lots of plans in place, incredibly senior personnel present. You’re in good hands

@Mummyspider27 I hope it helps reassure you :) they didn't specifically mention accreta, but talked about full placenta previa and described accreta to the couple

Mummyme87 · 19/05/2020 21:35

@Mummyspider27 which trust are you at?

Mummyspider27 · 19/05/2020 21:38

What does trust mean?!?! I am at Stoke Mandeville hospital... x

My placenta accreta baby just bounded in to say goodnight (he’s 12).

I had a general anaesthetic, and a hysterectomy (which I was delighted about, since no one thought I should use my womb again!). I lost a lot of blood, recovery took a while. He was born at 33 weeks, came home after 2 weeks, no ill effects.

@JellyBabiesSaveLives great to hear from someone who has had it. Waiting to hear from specialist, was just a lot to take in yesterday and all doom and gloom and scary so nice to hear from someone who has been through it xx
