20 week scan at 17 weeks?

I’ve had an appointment letter come through to see a doctor at the maternity unit (consultant led) but also says I should go with a full bladder and the purpose of the scan is to check abnormalities. Isn’t it too early for my 20 week scan? I am 17 weeks today x

How far gone will you be when you go for the scan? The anomaly scan takes place from 18 weeks onwards.
You can always call them to clarify why so early and see if it can be delayed a week or so?

I would call and double check as I was told it's much better to be 18 weeks onwards as some things they check for haven't fully formed before then.
