Diets during pregnancy

So I'm overweight anyway and have already piled on 2.5 stone at 6 months. I'm really huge now and cannot continue like this any longer. Are there any diets anyone can recommend that worked for them during pregnancy? I'm thinking of low carbing as slimming world doesn't really appeal to me. I can't do the old 'stick to 3 healthy meals' because I get hungry in between most days. I do need a restrictive diet though to help me to loose weight.

You shouldn't put yourself on a restrictive diet.
However, you can get yourself a portion plate and just try manage your intake that way, plus gently increasing your activity level.

Eating whole and nutritious foods, rather than junk and managing your calorie intake should see a stop to your weight gain and can only stand to benefit your pregnancy.

I wouldn’t recommend any diets that cut out major food groups (eg low carbing) as your body needs a balance. The only diet recommended by the NHS in pregnancy is Slimming World and even then it’s not meant to be about losing weight but rather gaining an appropriate amount of weight in pregnancy. It’s also adapted from the usual SW plan to ensure extra calcium etc. You’re also going to get all your major food groups and correct vitamin/mineral intake. I started my pregnancy at a BMI of 34 and I’m keen not to gain more than is recommended for those in my weight bracket.

I understand though how upsetting it is and so hard to get control of.
