Bleeding at 11 weeks - any advice?

I am (I think) 11+1 today, with my scan due next Thursday the 28th. Yesterday I went to the park/woods with my 1 year old and husband for a walk. Spent a couple of hours there and felt fine, but when I got home and went to the toilet realised there was blood in my pants and when I wiped, this was about 5pm.

Blood was initially brown/dark, but I had about an hours bath then did bedtime for my DD, checked and the blood had turned bright red and enough to need a pad. Monitored it on and off until about 11pm, just before bed I had a little ‘gush’ of mixed brown and red blood. This morning it seems to have slowed right down again, and is only brown.

I’m waiting to call the early pregnancy unit when they open (I spoke to my midwife just after 5 but she told me either a+e or wait for the EPU, it didn’t seem enough for a+e hence waiting) and hoping they’ll get me in for a check and scan.

Last night I was very upset and was convinced it was bad news, but am feeling cautiously hopeful this morning. Anyone had similar experiences at 11 weeks?

Did you manage to get in touch with the EPU OP?
I’d definitely call them. Hopefully they can fit you in for a scan. Thinking of you. Bleeding during pregnancy is absolutely wretched whatever the outcome Flowers

Have you had any scans so far in this pregnancy? I MC last week and called 2, separate EPU's, but neither would scan me, as I'd had an earlier scan and it wasn't a ectopic. Hopefully your one will help you though.

Here is a similar thread from yesterday which might provide some advice.

I had a scan once at 6 weeks for very light bleeding - baby was located and a heartbeat seen and no reason given for the bleeding, and hadn’t had any more since then until now (and that bleeding was always brown).

The EPU opens in 20 minutes so am going to call then and really hope that they will be happy to see me again. If not, I do have a private scanning clinic about 20 minutes from where I live, so although it’s not ideal I think I’ll have to pay to have a scan just so I know what’s going on.

Thank you for the thread link, I saw that just now and it was very handy!

Best of luck OP. I hope they will scan you, and sorry you are going through this Flowers

Sorry for your loss. This post is nearly a year old so you might want to make your own thread so you get responses (and it doesn't bring this back up for the OP) x
