Hi I’m 11 weeks pregnant on Wednesday and have my 12 week scan Nxt week.
Yesterday I had pale pink spotting and today it has become gradually worse , becoming more red and just now I noticed a small clot on the tissue. I have a scan booked in tomorrow morning with EPU but am very scared that Ive had a miscarriage.
Does Anyone else have the same story or similar to share??

That’s not nice at all OP bleeding isn’t always a sign of a miscarriage, my friend has been bleeding constantly and is now 22 weeks and her baby is fine.
Try and rest , much easier said than done though Flowers

Can offer a handhold op. It is all so scary.

Have you had any early scans? Sometimes a subchronic hematoma can cause bleeding which is frightening but not a miscarriage. It would probably have shown up on a scan.

I have had many losses, I knew when they happened, unless they were missed miscarriages. So the level of pain was such that it left no doubt in my mind.

Missed miscarriages for me were no bleeding, then being told of a loss at the scan.

So yes, some bleeding can be OK, sometimes unexplained, sometimes explained.

I hope you have a quiet night and all is ok tomorrow.

No I’ve not had any previous scans! I’ve not had any massive pain and blood loss has been steady. All very scary

Ok so no pain is a good sign. As pp said try and get some rest tonight. What time is appointment.

kirstygw · 18/05/2020 21:26

9:45. I can not wait.

I have just been to toilet and the wee turned the toilet water red....😢😢😢

Try not to panic tonight. I had horrendous bleeding and all has been fine (now 18 weeks).

Worrying won't change the outcome so as much as possible, try to stay calm. That is the best thing for your baby x

You could call NHS 24 and see what they say. I can only comment on my area but here they would say to contact epu in morning.

It might vary by area, someone else might know better than me.

At 11 weeks I would think calling NHS 24 for advice would be OK.

kirstygw · 18/05/2020 21:36

Thank you. Just phoned they said to stick to the plan of having scan in epu tomorrow. X

So sorry you are going through this. I MC last week at almost 10 weeks. I contacted 2 EPU's, at different hospitals, and neither would scan me as I'd had one at 7 weeks, so they knew it wasn't ectopic. As others have said, some women do get bleeding and go on to have a healthy pregnancy. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to prevent it if things aren't right though.

Sorry if TMI, but if you do pass anything other than clots, collect the products and ask the EPU to test it. (ideally keep in a sterile specimen type jar and keep in the fridge). Unless you've had several MC's, they likely wont do genetic testing, but they should at least do histology to rule out a molar pregnancy. Having some sort of answer and a clarification that there was a foetus there can be reassuring.

I hope things are ok though and you get some sleep Flowers

I obviously hope things work out fine, but this resource might be helpful too. They have info, leaflets, a hot line and also a forum to ask questions.

Wishing you all the very best, I know how stressful it is. I had bleeding with both my pregnancies. All worked out fine in the end and have two lovely boys.

DerbyshireGirly · 18/05/2020 22:21

Hope everything is fine OP. I had a really big, scary bleed with clots at nine weeks pregnant. It was a subchorionic haemorrhage and the baby was fine. The rest of that pregnancy was textbook perfect and she's now a lively two month old Smile good luck for tomorrow x

Waiting for that scan is the worst , got everything crossed for you today Thanks

Lemondropsandgumdrops · 19/05/2020 08:03

I’m sorry to hear this OP, I’ve actually just posted a thread asking the same question. I’m 11+1 and just started bleeding last night, am waiting on the EPU to open to ring them in the hopes they’ll get me in soon for a scan.

Fingers crossed for you, I really hope it’s good news.

Elouera · 19/05/2020 08:13

Thank you everyone.

I have unfortunately experienced a blighted ovum. The scan showed the sac was empty , no embryo to be seen.
I have to go back exit Wednesday for this to be confirmed.
I am feeling ok, kinda makes u feel a bit better that there was possibly no embryo there in the 1st place and that it wasn’t a 11week old embryo that I’ve lost.
Thank you all so much for the messages of support today and last ngt. Xxxx
