Do we need to shield following a csection?

Does anyone know if it is likely we will need to shield and be classed as more vulnerable after a c-section???

No, recent surgery is not on the list.

So unless you have one of the conditions which means you are advised to shield regardless of whether you have had recent surgery, you are not required to do so. Frankly, post CS it would be a horrible regime to follow, until your DH has quarantined himself for 14 days (following hospital exposures) and you can have some support

I think however it may be prudent for your whole family to go into strict isolation together until you feel that you have recovered. You don't need to be formally told to do that, just do it.

Second the advice given but also would add that covid19 or not, any germs and bugs brought in post surgery would not be great for your strength, recovery and pain to the wound from coughing so I'd try to self isolate as a family as best you can. If you are concerned or want genuine medical advice then your mudwife, gp or consultant would be who to ask or just check in on your discharge from hospital to see their advice

All the best
