Fluid leakage

Looking for a bit of reassurance. I'm currently 17 weeks with twins and recently I have experienced a heaviness in my vagina. Over the last few days I have also been very wet, particularly after any form of exercise (prenatal yoga and walking). The discharge is almost like water and doesn't smell. Is this normal. I have started scaring myself that it could be amniotic fluid. It isn't necessarily all the time but it has been several times a day. Anyone had similar?

Hi OP

Sorry you are going through this!

I didn’t have the heaviness but I had the leakage and it turned out my waters broke/were breaking at 25 weeks. I’m 31 weeks now so baby has held in there but If you think you’re leaking amnio you must must call your hospital/unit!

It may be discharge, it may be urine but absolutely call or go in to make sure x

It is probably just the joys of pregnancy but it is definitely worth running this one past your midwife just in case x

To add to above posters, it could also be sweat! Especially since you're noticing it after exercise. Extra blood flow down there can mean you get way more sweaty than normal (I know from experience...). But if you're concerned you should speak to your midwife.

I had this from around 17 weeks until the end of pregnancy. I was worried too about amniotic fluid. I went back to the hospital numerous times to be checked but it turned out to be nothing. They never figured it out but they weren’t concerned. Please do get checked out but try not to worry.

Hey everyone thank you for your messages. I had a physical exam and my cervix was closed and everything seemed to be looking ok. Very relieved!

Did they test your fluid/see where the fluid was coming from?
