Hi ladies just wondering when everyone started to use a birthing ball I'm currently 34 weeks but scared to use in case I go into labour ?

I'm 38 weeks and got one the other week to help with hip and pelvic pain - it helps more than sitting on a chair. Been bouncing around and doing circles of 8's etc. all day and not even a twinge of labour lol - I don't think they'll force you go into labour until your body is actually ready but they can help for aches, pains and doing stretches - and also for post partum exercise too :)

I think I used mine from around 28 weeks when I had achy hips! DD was born 2 days early but don’t think using the ball caused this....more likely the sweep I had am the day before she was born!

I sat on mine from about 20 weeks. Great for my posture! Also promotes baby being in optimum position for birth nearer the time I think.

FWIW my baby was born at 41 weeks!

Defo start using now. Encourages baby into right position.

I also used it post baby with gentle bouncing to help calming/sleep rather than pacing the floor with a baby for hours on end. That’s where I got the boat use out of it! Grin

It won't make you go into labour don't worry, people just find them useful for sitting in/leaning on for back ache etc. It defo won't induce labour Smile
