Antenatal appointments in 3rd trimester

Hi all

I’m 36 weeks and so far seems normal pregnancy but I am first time, 38 years old and consultant led.

How many checkups should I normally get before D day? Should it be Midwife’s or hospital for scan? I know there are still things to be concerned for this late stage but other than reduced movement is there anything I should flag?

Just wondering if they’ll reduce the appointment due to COVID and I need to request instead of being standard booked in

Thanks

If you're under midwife led care and not consultant you should have an appt every 2 weeks from 34 weeks in the community. Most places don't do scans after 20 weeks but some areas do, I think Scotland maybe at 36 weeks. Once you hit 40 weeks you see the midwife as regularly as you both determine

With my first in a different area last scan was 20 weeks. Then I had appointments at midwives on 36/38 weeks but then had son before 40 weeks.

This time with second and different area, they do an addition 36 week scan. Then midwife appointment meant to be at 37, 38 and 40 weeks.

Thank you. I feel like my bump has dropped and midwife said baby has his head down now

My bump actually looks smaller?! Is this possible or just my imagination!? I thought it was meant to grow 1cm every week?!

But that’s not something I’d go to hospital to check?!
