Hip pain

Hi guys. I'm currently 21 weeks pregnant and I've been suffering with horrendous hip pain for the last 3 weeks.
I have high BMI (over 40) so I know that probably contributes to it, but does anyone have any tips on how to deal with it? If I sit/stand/lie in the same place for too long it suddenly gives in and doesn't let me weight bare.

Any tips or do you recommend I talk to my midwife?

Thanks x

Hey, I popped this on another post earlier.....

Hi yes I had really painful hips from quite early on about 16 weeks - that came and went I think it's the relaxin hormone and your ligaments moving out the way to make space! The further along I've got (now 38 weeks) I get really bad thigh pain in the night too and now pelvic pain! I found for the hips and thighs get a good pregnancy pillow - it will also help you adjust to sleeping on your side (it's best to sleep on your side the further you get along anyway, something to do with oxygen getting to the placenta) - it's good to tuck part of it in between your legs/knees - that helped my hips a lot. I found this one really good, it's not cheap but has really helped

and for back/pelvic pain I found a birthing ball helps a bit bouncing around on that as too uncomfortable sometimes to sit in a hard chair/low sofa - also some light pregnancy yoga/stretches might help - apparently to keep moving/lightly active is good - I've been pretty much sedentary since working from home for 9-10 weeks so a bit of movement/yoga really helped me
