12 week Nuchal Dating Scan - More Blood Tests?

I got a letter in the post yesterday inviting me to my 12 week scan. I've consented to the extra screening for Downs etc. Will they do more blood tests?

I had blood tests a few weeks ago at about 8 weeks. I have the most awful veins - 3 separate midwives couldn't take my blood and I had to go back the next day to see the phlebotomist who also really struggling but finally got it out of my hand. I'm not that squeamish with needles really but it is frustrating to have so many people trying and telling me that the veins keep jumping and I just wanted to prepare myself...will they do this again on my scan date?

If you have the nuchal screening then yes, they do bloods for that (it is a combined test so it takes the nuchal measurement plus some info from your blood tests). I also had to have two booking bloods repeated as they hadn't put my date of birth on them so that was an extra tube or two as well!
