Late ovulation and poor egg quality. Is this true?

Working myself into a state.
I conceived when on the cycle where I ov’d late. I’m usually like clockwork so it’s unusual for me but certainly not unheard of.
My LMP was 13/02/2020. I specifically remember feeling ovulation pains exactly 2 weeks later on 27/2/2020. However a few days later (can’t remember the dates etc) I had ovulation pains again and I believe that this is when I conceived.

I only got a faint positive on 18/3/2020 which would fit in with ovulating later. I’ve since read that having LH surges before releasing the egg can affect the quality of the egg and cause chromosomal issues with it.

I had a pregnancy in 2018 where I O’d late. I had slight bleeding throughout and ended up having a MMC at 9+3 weeks.

I’ve estimated myself to be approx 11+6 at the moment and I haven’t had a scan or anything yet to confirm so I’m now incredibly worried that the same thing is going to happen again Sad

Late ovulation doesn't cause poor egg quality IMHO, with DS1 I ovulated on cd26, with DS2 it was cd21 and with my current pregnancy I was on cd23. Are your cycles normally regular ?

I generally ovulate cycle day 14 so textbook and my egg quality (confirmed by IVF is crap) so don't think it's necessarily the cause

ALTHOUGH whilst undergoing an IVF cycle in February my clinic told me to abandon the cycle when it was clear I was going to ovulate much later than normal and they did cite likely follicle quality as the reason

Late ovulation is a problem not so much due to egg quality but more because your body doesn't have the necessary time to make the best hospitable environment before your period starts so can effect implantation

When I ovulated late - day 20 I had identical twins.

Yes, usually very regular. I will say that when I’ve ovulated late, my period is also late if that makes any sense?

I’m guessing my luteal phase must’ve been of a normal length for the embryo to implant.

I’ve a history of loss (and also 2 lovely DD’s) so I think I’m getting into a bit of a frenzy with it all. Thank you for your replies.

I have longer than average cycles and wasn't tracking but worked out I must have ovulated around day 19 or 20.
I've never heard this before about long cycles and poor egg quality.
I'm 27 weeks with my first pregnancy and no issues so far.
