Baby movements at 18 weeks

Hi

I’m just wondering if this is normal. I started feeling our baby girl moving around 16weeks just light flutters and normally after dinner. I felt this every day for a couple of weeks.

I’m now 18 weeks and I haven’t felt her move at all for the last few days. I know that they don’t start to have a pattern until later on but is it normal to not feel her at all now?
Thanks!

If she has moved then you may not. I had flutters from 13 weeks, but I only started feeling real movement around 18 weeks but it was very on and off and wasn't all the time. I could go days without feeling anything and I've been getting proper kicks since last week (20 weeks).
Don't worry too much, as it also depends on where you placenta is. If you have a placenta at the front and it's not high then you won't feel as much as normal.
A lot of women don't feel anything until 23-25 weeks, my friend didn't get a proper kick until around then and her baby girl was fine. Hope that helps 🥰

I started feeling my baby kick at 17 weeks my placenta is at the back - she's been kicking like crazy tonight but I'd not felt her kick for a bit before tonight -, if I go out for a walk (more than 30 mins) then lay down at 8pm she's usually more active -also a cold sweat drink like Fanta sometimes works! Also you need to concentrate this early you only feel the really hard kicks even if your placenta is at the back! Try not to worry thry maybe moving when you're asleep and it wouldn't feel strong enough to wake you sometime my baby doesn't move all day then moves at like 1.30am!! When you're moving around they usually sleep due to the motion but I don't feel her everyday either! Xx

To be honest I would say I don't stop worrying I had the same at 18 weeks it didn't start again until maybe 21 so I waited by the hour for that 20 week scan it's amazing how these little humans grow inside our bellys all I think all day is has he got enough room in there lol good luck hope you get more flutters soon.

Thankyou so much everyone for your reassuring words! I feel like I will be worrying from now until she turns 18 haha!

Iv still not felt her move Since yesterday yet that’s been 4 days now but I’m thinking, as you said she’s probably moved positions. I’m not in any pain or anything so just trying to stay positive and hopefully I feel her kicking soon.

My 20 weeks scan isn’t until I’m 21 weeks so Iv just got under 3 weeks to go and I feel like that’s an eternity away.

I wish you all the best with your pregnancies ladies and thanks again :) xx

Really they're so small at 18 weeks still that if they turned over and we're facing your back and kicking the placenta you'd not even feel it but I guess if your really worries you can phone up the midwife but they don't really get into a regular pattern at 18 weeks and some women don't even feel their babies until after 20 weeks Smile
