Pregnant with number 2- and I think this is my punishment for having such an easy first pregnancy. 15 weeks and for the last 5 or so weeks near on every morning I wake with a pounding headache. Today’s since 4am! Anyone know what I can do? Sick of popping paracetamol.

I’m afraid I’m in the same boat, but have been drinking LOADS of fluids which seems to help. Also, try a caffeine and sugar hit with some carbs - maybe a can of full fat coke with some toast. That sometime later does the trick

Cold compress on your forehead or back of you head/neck depending on where your headache is.
Try and not stare at a screen for too long if you are working from home and a hot bath if you have one.
Meditation and pregnancy yoga is a great stress reliever so that may help too!
As pp said, loads of fluids if you can.
Unfortunately headaches are just part of the process if you're unlucky enough to get them!
I had them from around 7-17 weeks pregnant and they were vicious!
Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks both, this is brutal. Sadly my job is to work on a screen consistently! But will defo try the other suggestions.

I am afraid I am another in the same position. 19 weeks and I have been suffering since 14 weeks. It's horrible and so hard to function. I have found taking 2 x paracetamol with a can of coke helps a lot (apparently there is something in the coke and caffeine that makes the paracetamol work better) also taking naps when possible in a dark room and I found sometimes forcing myself out for a walk can help.
I am just hoping they stop at some point soon, from research it seems they do stop for most people by 3rd trimester.
I hope yours disappear soon.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 15/05/2020 17:10

By the third trimester? Not sure I’ll cope that long. Work and parenting wise I’m doing the bare minimum as it is. In the line at Sainsbury’s now though to buy coke!!!

If you're working at a screen all day, try and take 10 minutes away from your screen every hour, to give your eyes a rest.
Go lie on the sofa and pop a cold flannel over your face.
It's total shit isn't it! I feel your pain!
If it helps give you hope mine started disappearing after week 17 ish!
I hope you're do too!

I've had headaches for the past two weeks but the past couple of days we're so bad I had to take them off work!

Paracetamol does nothing either I found that deep freeze gel kinda numbs the forehead and eases the pain for a while! Sounds very weird
I know and probably not what it's
Meant for but it seems to be working for me!
