Anyone had persistent diarrhoea in pregnancy?

I’m 24 weeks and it started about 4 weeks ago. It comes on out of nowhere, and I get stomach cramps with it. It’s so unusual for me as I usually have a stomach of steel. It’s really getting me down now and I’m starting to worry it could be something more serious. Do you think it could just be related to the pregnancy/hormones etc? I never got this during my last pregnancy.

I had this throughout my pregnancy!

But I have a sensitive stomach anyway. definitely speak to your midwife or gp if it's out of character Smile

I would speak to your GP and get it checked out. There may well be a simple explanation but it’s worth ruling out things like an infection. I had this in my pregnancy and ended up diagnosed with an autoimmune condition but that is fortunately rare! Good luck and hope it goes away soon.

I had this on my second pregnancy from about 32 weeks. Would usually happen in the middle of the night as well. Def ask about it but my doc wasn’t concerned about it when I mentioned it.

Thanks ladies, seems it’s quite common in pregnancy, but something just doesn’t feel right so I’ve been asked to drop a sample off at the surgery. If that comes back clear I’ll just assume it’s another horrible pregnancy symptom and put up with it!
