Brown Discharge 8 weeks 5 days

Hi Ladies!

This is my first pregnancy and I’m very anxious to say the least, as I just want everything to be okay for our little baby!!

I am currently 8 weeks and 5 days and just experienced some brown discharge and some noticeable (not painful) twinges on my left side. As this is my first I’m extremely worried as I had no spotting until this. Is this normal or should I call the EPU?

I had a private scan at 7 weeks and and we saw a strong heartbeat.

My m/s has really calmed down today also.... (I’ve only been sick once rather than 4 times!!!).

If anyone could put my mind to rest it would be greatly appreciated xxxx

Hi. I had brown discharge at around 8 weeks with my first baby, I rang the midwife who said that's not alarming, but keep an eye.. then a couple days later I had a massive gush of blood.. so rang midwife who got me a scan booked for a few days later. All was well! Was a pocket of blood, but baby was fine she is now 11 years old! Ring your midwife and she may get you a scan, but brown discharge isn't particularly alarming on its own.

My doctors referred me to EPU, and all was fine. Got to see little pea on the screen with a strong heartbeat xxxx
