When do you start tracking movements?

I'm 20 weeks and I feel little flutterings each day since about 17 weeks but no solid kicks yet. Have had quite a lot of flutterings the last two days but gone a bit quiet this morning. When do I need to start tracking them and when do flutterings turn into kicks? Sorry for all the questions just a FTM with anxiety that needs a little hand hold Smile

It will be a while until you are able to track properly - I think general advice that from 28 weeks baby is in enough of a pattern to be able to track it, before then it's all a bit random. I'm 26 weeks today and my baby has yet to get into a proper routine - she was going mad yesterday and is a lot quieter today although I have felt her moving. I am getting some definite kicks now, managed to get one on video yesterday for the first time Smile

I'm 21+4 and feeling movement every day however this is my second pregnancy so they say you feel them earlier and the sonographer said my placenta is at the back which is why I'm feeling so much movement, my friend didn't get any movements until 20 weeks with her first so I think it's still very early, I wouldn't worry at the mo. I think I personally worry more when I'm getting proper big kicks and they were to stop, also your baby will get their own pattern so you will know what is normal, if that changes I'd would contact a midwife

Thanks ladies, I've just had some cold water and sat quietly and managed to get a little bit of movement. Like you said it's still to early to get into a pattern and they are still quite small! I know I'm just being silly I'm just a worrier!

They say you don't need to track movement until 28 weeks op, really don't worry 😊 I'm 29 weeks and still don't have a routine of movements due to an anterior placenta. I would go a few days not feeling really anything at all up until about 25-26 weeks💐
