Bit of a strange one but last few days the very top of my bump in the middle has been feeling a bit sore. The bit directly under my boobs . I am 32 weeks pregnant

Its not crampy or proper pain but the only way I could describe it is skin feels like it’s being scratched but from the inside ( I know that’s not actually possible) or it’s the feeling when you have a itchy scab but again the pain feels inside not outside or a bit like sunburn .. has anyone had anything similar?

I was wondering if it’s the skin stretching as bump grows - I don't have the urge to itch it or anything it's just uncomfy

No experience of this, sorry.
Best thing to do is phone your midwife and get some advice from them.

Sorry forgot to say they will probably want to do bloods to be ok the safe side. Have you had any other symptoms? Dark urine?

Sounds like it could be diastasis recti (tummy muscles parting). I had the same feeling in my first pregnancy and remember going to my midwife app and her saying my muscles had muscles had parted. Ask your midwife to check at your next appointment. Hth.

I had something similar and it was awful! I couldn't wear any clothes that rubbed that area, not even bras. Mine felt juat like bad sunburn. I had to cover that area with a flannel in the shower as hot water hurt.

To top it off, I also had rib pain internally, I guess from my ribcage expanding so it hurt inside and out.

Unfortunately, there was no remedy and it didn't ease slightly until my baby dropped at around 36w and then get better after the birth.

That said, that area is still a bit sensitive to the touch 8 months on. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Oh and as PP said, I also had diastasis recti so I assumed it could be related.

Fab thank you .

Unfortunately currently I don't have my own midwife to call as it's all remote but I will absolutely mention at my next appointment . I also have rib flair so imagine it could be connected! I will absolutely try a flannel on it and also have the exact same with wearing clothes over that area.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that's suffered its not a pain that's awful just more uncomfy

Hi all. Just bumping this again in case anyone has any advice . The pain has always been fairly mild but 3am this morning it got so uncomfortable . Same place directly at top of my bump and centre of it below my boobs. It isn’t a cramping pain but it feels like tearing or sunburn inside . I haven’t been able to sleep.

I rang MAU this morning who were lovely and offered advice but were fairly baffled told me to try breakfast and Gaviscon . My BP (blood pressure) is fine ( took it for them whilst on the phone ) and nothing else is feeling odd. Baby is moving about fine!

Anyone had this pain and found anything to ease it? I am going to go into MAU If it’s not appearing any better later.

I had that! Midwives said it was an internal bruise from the tissue being so stretched and tender, and then baby kicking it. Mine sometimes felt like a burn too.

I just held a cold flannel on mine to soothe it but nothing really got rid of it, sorry!
