Growth or patch on placenta ???

So I've just been for a growth scan at 34 weeks as when I went to midwife and she measured growth had dropped. Growth scan was fine baby growing normally blood flow to placenta and fluid are fine. However they have found a patch or a growth of some sort on my placenta that measures 3.3cm. They don't seem too worried as baby growing normally and I've had no bleeding or pain or anything. However they are going to get a consultant to phone me in the morning when they have spoken to them about it as it's not something any of them have seen. Said it could be a haematoma or potentially a benign tumour on the placenta. Has anyone else had this in the past ? If so what happened ? Will I likely be monitored more often until the birth ? Will it likely affect how or when I give birth ? Sorry for all of the questions just wasn't expecting this

Hey,
I'm 20+4 weeks and went for my 20 Week Scan 2 days around and they said they found something similar, I have to go back on Monday for a scan with the doctor to get it checked out.

Just wondering what the out come for you was?

Hiya yeah it's a benign tumour on my placenta so I've been monitored at the hospital every week with extra scans to check baby growth and the fluid around her as well as how the placenta is working. All good I've actually been admitted today for induction as they said they would rather induce early (38 weeks) to be on the safe side just had the pessary inserted so hopefully this will get it all started. They just said once the placenta is delivered it will be sent off to be checked to see if they are right in what they think it is. Hope all goes well for you xx
