Hello I just wanted to know if anyone had experienced what I did a couple nights back..did speak to a midwife over phone for my 25 week telephone appointment who said "thats odd"....

I suddenly on Sunday evening had a flush of feeling hot and felt light headed DH had to help me upstairs into my bed laid on my left side with a towel windows open and ice packs over me as was sweating and dripping ... after 20 minutes I fancied some toast and jam but fell asleep...

Anyone else experienced this? I didnt really get nuch advice on it yesterday for my 25 week appt which had to be over the phone

Not quite the same but I've been having night sweats consistently throughout my 2nd trimester, it's been pretty miserable! I know your body temp does rise during pregnancy. I've not felt light headed with it though. Could you ask to have your blood pressure taken if its worrying you? Your midwife doesn't sound very helpful!!

@Yaty unfortunetly I was told to invest in a blood pressure device as I now have big gaps in when I am next being seen for my 28 week midwife appt! Thanks for telling me your experience. Yes havent had the best medical advise I know!

Hi OP! Not the same as you but the same as @Yaty since being in my second trimester, I'm sooooooo hot when I get into bed and have some serious night sweats too!
I was getting breathless a couple of weeks ago, so I bought a BP machine from Amazon to keep an eye on my blood pressure and it's kept me really reassured.
If your midwife hasn't been helpful then I'd speak to your GP instead.
Worst case scenario, call your maternity unit at your hospital and get yourself in there for a check up.
Hope you feel better soon 🥰

@lockdownpregnancy Thank you yes will do if this happens again! I will look into a BP device from amazon I just worry I will get abit obsessed with it! I was thinking like you said about contacting GP instead of midwife. Thank you for replying

Ohhh yes! This happens to me a lot, it actually happened whilst I was getting my bloods and check up at the DR’s recently. And was a whole dramatic affair Blush

They said mine was down to a seriously low blood pressure, and just to take it easy. Making sure your sugar levels are up is key too, I always go a bit woozy when I’ve not eaten/drunk enough.

It’s a horrible sensation though, I actually did end up passing out. I’d recommend getting your feet elevated above your head with a couple of pillows, drinking a sugary drink, and laying down for a while. It really does knock the wind out of you!
