Had my final midwife appt today, felt so happy afterwards as felt I was on the home stretch avoiding this virus and keeping my mental health intact. My partner (been WFH since end of March) started feeling a bit off the weekend before last and I felt a bit crappy the few days after that. We're reporting our symptoms on an app and it invited us for a test which we had last Thurs. I came back as positive,he's still waiting. But he's still not feeling great. Sore throat, quite shivery/cold etc. So my stupid brain is now trying to convince me that I lulled myself into a false sense of security and he's DEFO got it,which means I'll get it,our son will get it.....

Can anyone just reassure me that everything will probably be fine.

If yours came back positive then you already have it?

emma911030 · 11/05/2020 19:38

Agree with @gruffalotoes if you tested positive then you have it

Catlover10 · 11/05/2020 19:44

I’m guessing you meant yours was negative?

Layladylay234 · 11/05/2020 19:44

Sorry,I meant mine came back negative!

If it’s positive you have it, so why did you go to hospital? 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈 cleat signs asking you not to enter if you feel unwell

The other two posters are right - if you're test is positive then you have it.

Layladylay234 · 11/05/2020 19:48

Mine was negative,I said positive by accident. I didn't go to hospital. My midwife appt was by phone.

Also, you've both got symptoms so how did you have a midwife appointment today? Surely you're isolating for two weeks?

Layladylay234 · 11/05/2020 19:48

Mine came back negative,I wrote positive by mistake.

Everything will probably be fine. It’s pretty likely he will test negative too but if he does test positive you are still far enough away from giving birth to be outside the isolation period.

Try not to panic until you know for sure. Good luck!

Thanks @sunshinegirl82 for your supportive reply x

How long ago was the test? I imagine if it was a while ago, he would have heard quicker than you if it was positive. I had a test and heard within two days and mine was negative. They said they are in touch with positive patients much quicker. Good luck
