Hi all, I had a early scan at 7 weeks due to not knowing my dates! Had one before this with no heartbeat so had a follow up one and was 7 weeks with a beating heart Smile

My question is (may sound really silly to some)
As Iv seen a beating heart at 7 weeks are the chances of continuing pregnancy higher?
I get so worried something will happen before 12 weeks scares me a lot 😔

Hi op I can’t offer any advice but I feel exactly the same my 12 week scan is next week and iv been so worried. I did have an early scan too which there was a heartbeat but I’m still so nervous. Hope everything goes ok for you x

The probability of miscarriage reduces each week so if all was fine at 7 weeks that's a positive sign. Of course, there are no guarantees that everything will be ok at the 12 week scan. Fwiw, my first scan in both pregnancies was at 12 weeks and both times I thought "Gosh, I hope I actually am pregnant and didn't read the test wrong!" Was always a niggle in the back of my mind! But luckily both times were fine. Good luck!

The chances of miscarriage drop quite a bit after seeing a hb at an early scan but that won't stop you feeling anxious before your dating scan.
I had early scans around 6 and 8 weeks and was still a wreck by 12 weeks convincing myself I'd had a MMC.
Scan anxiety is real and awful.
I'm 26+4 now by the way so all was absolutely fine.

It's hard isn't it! I tell myself if nothing obvious has happened eg bleeding everything should be fine. If in doubt get it checked though.
I'm 20 weeks and haven't had my second scan yet and went to hospital yesterday as I'd had a pain all day, the doctor was a bit shitty but the midwife was lovely and understanding and I heard the heartbeat.

Good luck

Thanks all! I know it’s just so worrying!! It’s the not knowing!! Good luck to you all going forward Flowers
@Raaaa oh no shame the doctor was shitty! At least now you know all is well though and I’m glad Smile
