Why do I do this to myself...
Google... Then worry!
I'm 5+3, second baby.
this weekend I've felt really bloated lower tummy, tonight I've been getting cramps, hip and pelvis pain.. More so left side I think.
And a few times over the weekend I've had sharp pains in vagina.
The pain isn't severe but it's certainly noticeable.
Ive convinced myself I'm having an ectopic.
😣

That sounds normal to me. When I had my ectopic pregnancy, the pain was extreme. I couldn't move, I was bent double, crying. Very different from normal pregnancy stretching. Shoulder tip pain is also a sign, but I didnt have that

I've have the exactly same pain and convinced myself I am aswell! But deep down I think we are just worrying! I'm 4+3! Congratulations btw xxxx

I had a lot of those symptoms so went for an early scan at 6 weeks. Everything was completely fine. I am sure it will be the same for you too :)
If you are worried, call your midwife but most likely everything is fine.... And stay away from Google (haha says the one that googled EVERYTHING 🙈)

lockdownpregnancy · 10/05/2020 21:53

I collapsed at 7 weeks as I was in absolute agony and ended up in A&E at 1am! I was terrified that I was having an ectopic pregnancy as my was all in the right side. I literally felt like I was being stabbed!
I had a scan the next day and was told it was the side where I had ovulated, and I had formed a functioning cyst in my Fallopian tube which is a very good thing in pregnancy and helps to generate the proper amount of hormones for a good pregnancy. Most women don't have any bother with the cysts but some experience really bad pain, which I did! There is a fancy name for the cyst but I don't know what it is, unless I dig out my notes 😝
You could be suffering with that? Or it could just be ligament pains or they are spasming our.
If you're not bleeding then fingers crossed all is well for you.

If they continue speak with your GP and perhaps book yourself an early scan for around 7 weeks to put your mind at rest.
They won't give you one now as it's too early. 7 weeks they can pick up a heartbeat.

And just to add.... Google is the devil!
You're better off on here!

miatheminx · 10/05/2020 21:57

I had the same as PP.

If you are worried and in pain go to the hospital.

OneTooManyBathtimes · 10/05/2020 21:59

Normal. I had both those pains without a chance of being pregnant 🤷🏻‍♀️ and by that I mean id not had sex for 6 months and I still had the pains.
As others have said, you really will know if it's an ectopic. The pain is much much worse.

BMWL · 15/05/2020 20:59

I had an ectopic in February which had to be surgical removed. I was 5+4.
My symptoms was a 'stitch' like discomfort in the right lower pelvis, almost radiating down into the groin, and also extreme nausea and spotting which went from brown to lumpy red (sorry tmi)
If you are very concerned, try book in with your EPU, keeping in mind they would need to do an internal scan to make sure it is in the right place.
I know it's easier said than done, but try not to stress and just take it step by step xx

ApplePie86 · 15/05/2020 21:14

How are you doing @Popcat120 ??

I have just had the exact same as @lockdownpregnancy today - nurse at EPU has said it's very common, albeit I think it's part of me miscarrying/having a chemical pregnancy. The pain was absolutely excruciating but they've said all symptoms point to it not being ectopic which is what I was also worried about.

Hope you are ok!

Popcat120 · 16/05/2020 10:23

All has settled down it seems.
I have my first scan 26th so 🤞🏻

I'd keep an eye out. If you keeping having the same issues with some of the other symptoms I'd go straight in.

I had an ectopic right side which misdiagnosed as a mc. I didn't have severe pain I had nausea, ovulation like pain but it felt like it was in my hip. I also started bleeding and didn't stop bleeding for nearly 5 weeks. I was very very lucky. My body dealt with it (tubal mc) and reabsorbed the pregnancy and I did not have to have surgery. But I kept ignoring the niggles of pain.

Please dont ignore if you're worried call your gp.

Popcat120 · 16/05/2020 11:20

I haven't really had pains since I first posted, so I'm sure all is OK.

I am 4+4 had some tummy pain yesterday so went to GP and they referred me to early pregnancy assessment unit they've taken my bloods last night and got to go back again tomorrow to have another lot done. As others have said I'm sure I'd know if it was ectopic? Surely I'd feel much worse, I'm hoping it's been a mix on constipation and trapped wind. My tummy has felt better this evening but have such bad pain in my lower back. No bleeding or anything like that and the cervical exam they did said looked good. Hoping everything is ok for myself and you 🙏🏽
