Hi, just that really . I’m pregnant with my first , I’m 24 weeks. Off work as I’m high risk pregnancy.
I seem to be up quite late at night , sometimes not getting to sleep until about 1:30am as I’m unable to drift off, therefore not getting up until 10:30 ish. I wake maybe every half an hour to an hour throughout the night either needing a wee, a drink, or bad dreams. I get up at 7:30 for breakfast to take my medication then go back to bed. But then by 3:30pm-4pm I am shattered again!! I’m worried I’m causing harm to my baby by sleeping too much but so many people say nap when you need it ? I’ve read articles where they say too much sleep can be linked to still birth but only if you’re sleeping 10hours without waking up...but I definitely wake up very frequently so I’m trying not to worry about that.
I’m not lacking iron or anything , so I just don’t get it.

Anyway, just wondered if anyone else is really tired ? To make me feel less guilty 🤣

Totally normal.

In fact your body is pre-programmed to go all crackers with sleep during pregnancy to prepare you for the sleepless nights.

Take the sleep whilst you can, trust me.

@2007Millie thank you , i was a bit worried when I read an article saying it harms the baby but the fact I’m waking up so frequently must be making me tired the next day. Weekends are the worst , during the week I seem to manage to not nap sometimes but by the end of the week I’m just done ! And I’m not even working at the moment due to being off 😭

I can't sleep till really late either, I used to be a fairly early bedder but I'm like you I'm up til 1am or there abouts. It's abit annoying! Usually up about 3 or 4 times for the toilet. Today I slept in til near half 10 but some days I can wake really early. My sleep has totally changed through pregnancy. I used to have a nap during the day but now I can rarely sleep in the day!

Yep. So tired. Can’t get comfortable even with a pregnancy pillow and wake up with terrible pins and needles. Up every 45 minutes for a wee and have a partner who snores! I feel your pain! I’m 28+3

My sleep patterns are all over the place. I'm not falling asleep till late but still waking up early (7-7.30) and tossing and turning all night in between.
I just can't seem to get comfortable.
Spend most of the day knackered as I'm not sleeping much.

I can’t seem to stay asleep either. I read that wakefulness at night is inversely correlated with stillbirth as you’re less likely to sleep for ages in a position that is detrimental to placental blood flow, so I’m trying to see the positives through the tiredness!

Thank you ladies for reassuring me I’m not alone in this ! @fretnot that’s really good thank you! I was getting myself worried that I’m sleeping too long but I couldn’t work out if it didn’t count if you wake up a lot which I certainly do ! I wake up every time I roll over too and my husband snores 🤣

Fell asleep last night at 11pm, woke up at 2:30am with killer heartburn and desperate for a pee. Went back to sleep about 3am to 5:30am- needed another pee. Was awake for two hours before nodding off again for an hour. Lazed in bed until 11:30am. Don't worry too much...baby will be awake every 2-3 hours when here, I think it's your body's way of getting you adjusted before arrival!
