Hi all, I'm 29 weeks. Yesterday I woke up with a slight headache on the right side of my head. Took a paracetamol and thought nothing of it. Unfortunately the pain progressed throughout the day and I also felt pain behind my right eye, right side of jaw and nose. Took another paracetamol in the afternoon. Barely touched the pain.

By the evening I was in bed and couldn't look at any light, couldn't move and basically felt awful with the pain.

I woke up this morning and the pain has gone. But I feel very weak, spaced out and not normal despite the pain being gone.

I had some pee sticks and there was no protein in my urine so wasn't concerned about pre-eclampsia.

Does this sound like a migraine? I've had headaches before but nothing like this. For the last 7 years I've had aura migraines (1 or 2 a year) but never had the headache pain so this was new to me.

Is it something I should mention to my midwife? Did you experience migraines for the first time in pregnancy?

Hi I suffer from migraines which have became more frequent now I’m pregnant. Pretty much had them daily/ every other day since I was 6 weeks and I’m 19 weeks now. It definitely sounds like one my jaw/ nose/ eyes and head are banging and paracetamol doesn’t touch it exactly what you describe. But it isn’t unusual for me as painful as it is so I’m not worried in that sense. But if you’ve never had one or rarely experience one maybe see how you get on and tell your midwife your worried as you’ve never had one before. Good sign there’s no protein in your urine, but I’m no expert so do speak to mw. Hope it’s the last one you get try and rest it off. If you haven’t already try having your paracetamol with a full fat coke x

I had horrid headaches for the last 2/3 weeks with DC2 was back and forth to midwife and eventually prescribed some pretty meaty painkillers.

So I'd advise getting checked properly - if only to release the good drugs!!

@quarantinevibes Thank you I'm going to try the coke thing. Not happy about having to take paracetamol but in the last 30 mins I can feel a little bit of pain in the same place as yesterday so going to take one shortly to hopefully keep it at bay Sad
