Baby bottle recommendations

Hi there,

This is my first pregnancy and I'm not due for a very long time yet, but with all this extra time on my hands I've found myself researching all things baby and just trying to get a good and general idea of what I'd like and need to buy in a few months time.

The one thing that has confused me the most though is baby bottles and what brand etc people have found to be the best for their baby. I am going to try and breastfeed but would also like to have an idea about bottles.

Any recommendations/help would be appreciated :)

If you’re planning on BF then bottles with a more nipple shaped teat are more appropriate such as Mam, Dr Brown, Nuk etc. Tommee Tippee are the least nipple looking teat there is imo. We’re in the same boat and have gone for Mam Smile

I breast fed my first and the only bottle he took was Nuk after trying several others. The milk comes from the top of the teat rather than the end so much more natural flow. I plan to buy more for my second.

We tried a couple but use dr browns , they have a valve to help with wind.

Mam anti colic bottles from early on, tried tommee Tippee but she didn't like the teat. Mam ones have been great.

Mam anti colic are great, used them for 12 months with DS and had no issues. Self sterilising feature is so useful and they're a reasonable price too. We had the electric steriliser aswell which was great.

Mam worked very well for us. Very ergonomically shaped for baby. Wouldn't say they were really like a boob to be honest though. But very easy for baby to use.

You can also stetalise then in microwave. So no need to buy an extra contraption.

We've had zero issues with wind.

Oh nooo I've bought tommee tippee

emma911030 · 09/05/2020 23:00

I had Tommee tippee with my first and will start with them for second. My first took them straight away. I intended up bf but after 3 weeks it wasn't working for us so went into bottles. We didn't have any problems at all. I really like them but I don't recommend the ones that have the heat sensor in the middle, they seem to leak quite often if they're not perfect on which is really annoying when your in a mad rush for a bottle!

Another Nuk recommendation, DD was prem and she took them really easily - I bought a load of tommee Tippee which she never took to so ended up selling them. I would suggest just buying a few to see what works.

I'm currently breastfeeding my 11 week old with my DP giving the odd bottle of expressed milk using MAM anti collic which baby takes perfectly - no confusion at all. They self-sterilise too which makes things super easy.

I BF and my OH gives a bottle of expressed milk most days in a tomee tipee. Never had any confusion. He's 9 weeks and been doing this since 3.
