Pregnant??

Hi ... very odd. My partner started bleeding around ovulation time just over a couple of weeks ago and has been bleeding (like period bleeding) ever since.

A pregnancy test yesterday showed Pregnant 2-3 weeks. She went to dr today who seemed downbeat and, in urine testing, declared it a faint positive.

We are guessing she may be miscarrying. But really we don't know.

Does anyone have any thoughts please? If so, gratefully received...

That is a strange one! Is the bleeding very heavy and has she ever had irregular cycles like this before? I'm sorry you're both going through this, it such an upsetting time when you don't know what's going on! I'd suggest trying another ClearBlue digital in a few days. If it drops back to 1-2 then I'd suspect miscarriage but if it stays the same or even goes up to 3+ then I'd be heading straight to the Early Pregnancy Unit for a scan. Fingers crossed xx

Hi thank you very much for replying. No she hasn't had this before. Bleeding has been pretty heavy, though apparently a couple of days ago it was a little darker than now. We are thinking... ovulation bleeding then implantation bleeding then miscarriage. But obviously we don't really know and we are still hoping.

We tested again today and it still is showing Pregnant 2-3 weeks (as before). We are still inclined to feel we miscarries a few days ago but it's hard not to be hopeful. At the same time an ovulation stick is showing "smiley face" for the last couple of days. Do you have any thoughts or experience? Thanks if so

Can you contact the early pregnancy unit at your local hospital? Sounds like they need to check hcg levels and possibly do a scan.

It’s an unusual situation. Did the GP think it could be a miscarriage?

I would contact the early pregnancy unit at your local maternity hospital and ask for advice. Ovulation tests can come up positive when pregnant too, which would make sense since the pregnancy test is positive.

Thanks. Yes the doctor performed a test that came up with what he described as a "faint sign of pregnancy" and said that she may be in the process of miscarriage. Today's clear view test showed her to be pregnant to the same degree as the one we did over a week ago. I guess it's plausible that her body still has some pregnancy hormone even though she is no longer pregnant and that is what is giving a false reading, presuming the doctor was right.
