Pregnancy after C Section

I know they recommend waiting 12 months to get pregnant again after a section.

Has anyone gotten pregnant quite soon after having a section? Say within the first few months?

@AbelMartinez how are you feeling about the section?

Looking forward to it! It's a maternal choice section. vaginal births never really appealed to me and terrified of something going wrong. What about you?

AbelMartinez · 08/05/2020 18:18

Or a Belly Birth as my friend calls it :)

MrsBtobe1208 · 08/05/2020 19:23

Haha I like that belly birth 😂

I had a vaginal with my first, elective section with my second 5 weeks ago. I prefer them both in different ways to be honest :)

I'm pregnant with number 4; a complete shock as I had my tubes cut and tied during my section with number 3. There will be around 15 months between 3 and 4 so I got pregnant around the 6 month mark. This will be my third section as number 2 was breech so I had an elective cesarean with him.
I have seen a consultant at the beginning of my pregnancy to discuss my birth options this time (it will be a c section as a vbac becomes more dangerous the more sections you have), there was no mention of any other complications due to falling pregnant so quickly.
I'm 24 weeks pregnant tomorrow and so far, it's a textbook pregnancy!

I’m 41 and just fallen pregnant with my second. My LO has just turned 7 months, so like PP I will have a 15 months between them. I haven’t seen anyone yet, but when I had my 6 weeks check at the doctors, I said I didn’t want any contraception as we would try again quite soon and they said it was a good idea and wouldn’t be a problem.

I didn’t get that memo! Did the vbac thing 18 months and one day after a fairly traumatic emcs. I would recommend getting to know your scar - where the weird lumps are, is any of it constantly numb. Then if it starts to feel different, you’ll be aware.

Thankyou all :)

I had my second baby two weeks ago which was ELCS and the doctor came around the following day and recommended we wait a 'year or so' if we were planning on having more. We arent for probably 4-5 years if at all - so I didnt ask why.

I fell pregnant when my ds was 5 months old. He was delivered by emergency csection. No one mentioned anything about waiting to conceive again (although number 4 was unplanned) I chose to have a vbac (after 2 previous csections) turned out to be another emergency c section and she told me my scar was paper thin and of I wanted more children’s I wait at least 2 years. Pregnant with number 5 and a 4 year gap.
