Just looking for any hope really!

I'm only 5w+3 so obviously very early! Today I have been spotting bright red when wiping after going to the toilet so obviously really panicking now.

Has anyone had this and it turn out to be ok?

I can't contact the GP as it's a bank holiday so they're not open until Monday :(. Any suggestions what I should do? Just wait it out?

Sorry you are going through this. Do you have an early pregnancy unit at your local hospital you could call for advice?

burdog · 08/05/2020 12:49

Try ringing NHS 111. They might be able to get you out of hours advice.
I had the same problem on Wednesday. I got a call back from my GP and was advised to try to keep my mind off it (hard, I know) and do a test in a weeks' time.
Fingers crossed, @h8624.

I joined mumsnet just so I could reply.

With my eldest child I bled at exactly the same time and I had an early pregnancy scan and the baby was there fine and healthy. He is now 9!
Call 111 and get to speak to the early pregnancy unit at the hospital. Gp might be shut but they won't be. Give as much information as possible because they will probably assess over the phone as to whether you need to go in. Every pregnancy is different. Stay strong xx

Thanks all @Elouera @burdog @chocchipcookie9 I appreciate all your replies!

It seems to have tailed off mostly now, just a bit of brown left when wiping (sorry tmi!) but I am going to keep an eye on it over the weekend and contact the GP on Monday to get it checked out! As it's so early I guess there's not much they can do yet anyway. If it comes back/gets heavier I will definitely call 111 though :)

Really appreciate all your replies they have made me feel much better!

@Burdog are you still bleeding or has it stopped now?

Sounds like it is just the egg planting in womb lining. Keep us updated, hoping for good news xx

burdog · 08/05/2020 15:55

@choccipcookie9 It started when I woke up at around 7:30 and lasted till mid-afternoon. No spotting since then.

I am also 5 weeks and 3 days pregnant. I started bleeding this morning. I am losing hope because I think I have miscarried the pregnancy. Did anyone experience real bleeding in pregnancy and successful had a baby? I am very worried

Peanut870 · 08/05/2020 18:44

Hiya, so sorry you're going through this. I'm also going through this. I spotted the day we found out I was pregnant, then again a couple of days later, but when I was just under 6 weeks, I started bleeding which got heavier and had clots (sorry TMI!). My GP got me into the EGU 2 days later. As I was just 6 weeks, they only saw a gestational sac and a yolk sac. After 2 weeks, yesterday I went back and they saw a heartbeat! I'm still incredibly scared as I'm still bleeding, but not as heavy. Anyways, I have everything crossed for you and @Fauz. Please do keep us updated.

Wow this seems to be happening to a lot of us unfortunately Sad I'm 5w1d and I started spotting this morning. It was more like a (sorry TMI) brown tinge cm and it was also very little like a drop on the panty liner no more than a cm in diameter. And then the same again when I wiped this afternoon. However, I've had no severe cramping. But I have that crampy feeling on and off like you get just before your period starts but I've been having that for the past week. Apparently all this is normal but still can't help feeling anxious and can't really do anything till GP opens up and I guess they'll only say just monitor it. This is going to be the longest few days wait of my life. Keeping my fingers crossed for all of us Thanks

H8624 · 08/05/2020 20:11

Mine happened after a bowel movement this morning (sorry tmi) and seems to have tailed off since! So fingers crossed nothing serious.

I usually get this just before my AF starts so weird it's happening now - maybe I have a sensitive cervix or something!

Update: So I called the midwife this morning to let her know about the spotting. (Had a tiny amount again this morning but less than yesterday) and she said pretty much the same thing I read while Googling like crazy! That the spotting and mild cramping is most likely implantation. However, I thought implantation happens between 8-11dpo, not 4/5 weeks later? But anyway, apart from the tiniest spot this morning and I'm not feeling the period impending cramps -yet. I feel a lot more reassured having spoke to the midwife. I hope this put you guys at ease too Thanks

Hiya, I'm having similar symptoms, so I'm 5+3 I had a tiny bit of brown last night then woke up to a little more this morning, I'm just taking it easy today, I did ring the EPC and I've got a scan for tomorrow morning as I've had 3 mc so it's just to put my mind at rest, but it's interesting to see how many other women get spotting at 5+ weeks, good luck to you all 😊

H8624 · 09/05/2020 11:16

Thanks for all your replies! Nice to hear I'm not the only one.

I haven't had any more since yesterday so hopefully all is ok. Expecting a call from MW this week so will mention it then.

Just had a scan and peanut is in the right position but too early to see a heart beat I have got a cyst on ovary so that could of caused the brown discharge

Fauz · 01/06/2020 05:41

Update: I am sorry I am giving feedback late. I carried out two scans at two hospitals and the baby is fine. The bleeding reduced at 7 weeks. I get occasional spotting now at 8 weeks. I pray everything will be fine at the end. Please, include me in your prayers. I wish all my sisters who are pregnant a successful birth.

Hi everyone

I am 5 weeks +2 and started spotting 2days ago yesterday it got a bit heavier but still not really heavy.

I rang out of last night and they advised it's normal but to ring my gp today and they will send me for a scan. I just can't help bit worry because it's getting heavier rather than going away :(

Fauz · 01/06/2020 21:55

Stop freaking out dear. I had the same issue and my baby was fine. I am hopeful your baby is fine. Cheers.

KatyNH · 02/06/2020 07:59

Hi ladies,
Sorry to jump on this post and wishing you all well. Found out I was most likely pregnant last Thursday with the faintest possible line ever and then re-testing on the Saturday, experienced - 3 stronger, but still faint positives. Bit of a shock to the system as we're not ttc, but took it in my stride and decided to take another test which came back negative :/ .. contacted the GP who has put me on folic acid and vitamin D, however AF was 2 days late and last night I experienced some light pink blood when at the loo, this has changed to light brown as of this morning. Nothing on the pad, only when I wipe. (Sorry for the TMI) am I likely to be having a chemical pregnancy/miscarriage or is this implantation?? Waiting patiently for the GP to open.
