Preparing for a baby after unexpected pregnancy

Hi,

I found out 3 weeks ago that I am unexpectedly pregnant, and after much panicking/talking at length with my partner as to whether we are ready for parenthood (particularly financially under the current circumstances with jobs furloughed and my own not guaranteed etc.), we’ve decided to go for it!

Now I’ve got my head around it, I’m feeling happy and excited but at the same time nervous and overwhelmed all rolled into one!

I’ve had bloods taken, measured and weighed yesterday, with my booking appointment this coming Monday and first scan on the 2nd June, so have those wheels in motion. But really I want to know if anyone has any advice as to where to start on the preparation side of things as my heads in a bit of a spin as to where to begin! Any first hand experience or pointing in the direction of good resources for first time Mum’s would be so appreciated.

Just to add I’ve just past the 8 week mark and other than referring myself to my maternity team have thus far only got myself taking folic acid and vit D along with ditching the ciggies (along with booze and foods I should be avoiding) and that’s about it 🙈.

Thanks in advance. X
