Due to covid partners are not allowed to come in with you when you have a scan. My husband is quite upset about it and we are due to have another one next week, are you aloud to video your scan on your phone? Sounds stupid but he shouldn’t miss out he has as much right as me.

When I went to my scan last week there were notices in the room saying no photos or videos allowed.

Had mine yesterday and you aren’t allowed to take photos or do videos. It was a long scan checking all the measurements etc. But the the ladies there were lovely so it was still an amazing experience! They also printed me out 14 Scan photos! So had loads to show 😊

Thank you!

I had my scan on Tuesday and i had a letter in my notes explaining they've tried videoing and it doesnt work etc and it's a medical examination more than anything else. I asked straight away if I could get some photos, he said it depends if the baby is in a position and I had to pay £5 per photo . Luckily the baby was lying in a position to get a nice clear one.

I think a lot of trusts are saying no to this, mine certainly doesn't allow it, nor will they write the gender down on a bit of paper etc.

Ginntoniconpause · 07/05/2020 09:24

I asked if I could film for a few second after the measurements were taken and she said that I could, it was a medical exam and also said that there are national guidelines about it. (I didn't know this). However, I've seen on another thread on here that a couple of trusts have allowed this. I suppose you can only ask.

I had an early scan due to personal history and the sonographer took a recording of baby's heartbeat and put it on a loop for me to video whilst she went out the room to get something. I don't know if it's due to my history that she offered this to me but it was a lovely thing for her to do, given all the pressure they are under at the moment!

The only time I've recorded anything was the heartbeat during my midwife appointment.

Unfortunately as its primarily a medical appointment I imagine the majority of hospitals (if not all) will not allow photos or videos for privacy reasons.

My hospital had signs up saying no to video or audio recordings and pictures.
I did get some free scan photos though.
