Filming scans

Does anyone know whether you're allowed to film the scan image on the screen with your mobile phone as partners aren't currently allowed in too?
I know normally you're not allowed, I'm not sure if it interferes with the machines or whether it's just distracting so not allowed for that reason. I was just hoping to be able to show DH a little video rather than a couple of blurry printouts

I wasn't allowed to at my 20 week scan two weeks ago but not sure if all hospital trusts are doing the same!

Ask when you get there?

Lobster21 · 06/05/2020 19:45

I was allowed to video call my OH so he could see too. That was 12 week scan.

My hospital’s website specifically said no phones were allowed during the scan but the pictures I got were amazing quality. I had my 20 week scan on Monday.

I had my 20 week scan last week and filming and phone calls were a no no.

Colouringinbook · 06/05/2020 20:26

My scan letter specifically says you won't be able to film.

peachesancream · 06/05/2020 20:31

Hmm it's looking like a no, hopefully I might be able to do a call like @Lobster21 mentioned that's a good idea thanks
@peachypetite I had planned on that obviously was just looking for peoples recent experiences

Well it will vary so no point getting your hopes up because someone else in a different part of the country was allowed to.

I had my 20 week scan on Monday and was allowed to film for about 20 seconds at the end. The sonographer replayed some of the screens she had captured already and I recorded on my mobile. This was at the Rosie Hospital in Cambridge and I was told it's a recent change in policy because of no partners being allowed in. I was really happy to be able to do this but appreciate it will be different across trusts and over time.
