Low waters 37w

I had a scan yesterday and was told my waters are at 5.5 afi which Is low for gestation. I even think my bump has got smaller. I'm trying not to worry but has anyone experienced this? I've only got 8days left until my section and I'm scared something is going to go wrong in the meantime

Hey - perhaps just have a chat with your midwife? If your movements are normal, baby’s growth is normal, and you haven’t had any leaking I wouldn’t worry too much. In some places AFI 5-25 is considered normal; in others the reference is a single deepest pocket measurement (

Hi thanks for your reply. The deepest pocket was 2.5 so borderline. I think she said they'd expect the afi to be above 8.
I don't think I'm leaking and they will see me again on Fri.
It's hard not to worry anytime during pregnancy but the last few days is a particularly anxious time for me.

Very different situation but my waters broke at 25 weeks so I have to have regular scans etc. I was told an amnio pool of 2-8 is consider normal so I think you are ok!

Also at 37 weeks the baby really only needs the amnio to protect from infection and be comfy (mine seems just fine though)...

Try not to worry but speak to your MW if you are x

I know what you mean re anxiety in the last few days OP - you’re on the home stretch and it’s time to meet your baby! But all sounds fine, just keep counting down the days :)

I was scanned at 25+5 when I was admitted for 72 hours observation and I was scanned on Monday at 29+2 and I think I have another at 32 x

No sorry OP just checked and it was at 26, the day I was discharged so seems to be every 3 weeks x
