Maternity bras

Hi all
I could do with some good maternity bras which are more along the lines of a crop top/sports bra kind of style. I also want a soft one for sleeping in as it's getting quite uncomfortable

My size was 32E, don't know what I am now but my boobs feel and look much fuller now and are quite heavy Confused
Where can I get something supportive without the hefty price tag? Love bravissimo and fig leaves but just can't afford those prices at the moment, especially if my size might change again in a few months

I've looked on H&M and seen some which look nice but they also look a little flimsy or more for people with a lighter chest

Any suggestions or anyone who is bigger who as tried the H&M ones?

I’m similar size - 32FF - but unfortunately no help. I found my back was so sore with cheaper / non-wired bras so I ended up going to figleaves. They have their own brand ones at about £25 but the godsend that has saved my back are the Freya flexi-wire bras. These are okay for maternity as the wire is more flexible than normal bras. They regularly have discount codes though so I got 20% off and free postage. They are also nursing bras so I’m hoping to get lots of wear out of them.

So sorry it’s such a pain when you have to buy large bras but I couldn’t cope with the constant back pain and these bras are the only ones I’ve felt supported and comfortable in. Maybe someone else will come along with a gem they found somewhere. Good luck!

I got some from John Lewis, I'm a D/ E so smaller than you but they are soft and cotton lined and comfortable. It was a pack of 2 for about £30 I think. They have a measuring guide on their website but I found I needed smaller chest and larger cup - ie I was measuring 38 D but 34 or 36 E fitted better.

Thanks @Littlelot

Bra shopping is the bane of my life, I hate it so much. Dh always complains that my bras look like they have come out of someone's skip Blush as shopping for them is such a chore, once i find a comfy bra, that fits well, i wear it until it falls into pieces 😂😂

I have the same problem at a 34ff, prob a cup size bigger now at 13 weeks. I live in these bras from M&S. Non wired but give support and ha e thicker band.l for comfort. They have £5 off them just now so £15 per bra.

Im normally a 36DD and struggling to find comfortable ones.

Don't buy the H&M ones there so uncomfy and half the bra disappears under your boobs 😳

TangBloodyFastic · 05/05/2020 15:57

@Disco38 no stock in the 32 Sad 34F would be too big at the moment
Makes it difficult having no shops open to go and try doesn't it 🥴

TangBloodyFastic · 05/05/2020 16:24

Thanks @Disco38 added various sizes to my basket and the black were out of stock when I went to checkout. Have managed to get a white one in a 34E so will see how I go! Have ordered some others too in the hope I find something! Sizing is anyone's guess though!
This looked quite nice and comfy so ordered 12 and a 14 in the hope one fits!!

Thanks I am going to do a wee order tonight too so I will have a look :)

Superscientist · 05/05/2020 16:37

I have the DD+ version of the bralet and it is so comfy and more supportive than I was imagining for a non bra. I'm normally a 30 back, and the size 8 still fits OK at 25 week so 12 or 14 should be OK for a 34 back if their sizes scale!

TangBloodyFastic · 05/05/2020 16:43

@Superscientist is that the bralet I have linked to?

@TangBloodyFastic George at Asda are quite good, I’m a 34F usually but also feeling bigger. I got a pack of non wired nursing/pregnancy bras in a size XL and they’re sooo comfy. £20 for 2.

Superscientist · 05/05/2020 16:59

Its one of the lace ones that comes in black or white, but I think the patterned ones are the same just different fabric.

TangBloodyFastic · 05/05/2020 17:07

@Superscientist I think that's the one I've ordered! Hope it fits when it comes

@mamablondie2 just looked at George, there's definitely some that I'll order. Easier to look/order on my computer so will order some tomorrow when I'm at work

Thanks V much for the suggestions!

Next conundrum- maternity wear Confused

Update: the bras arrived and am keeping a flexifit one and a bralette one
The bralette is a 14 but doesn't give much support for anything other than lounging round the house
I am going to use it for sleeping in mostly and also just general slobbing as it is comfy as there's no wires or fastenings.

The full cup one you recommended @disco38 was comfortable but a bit too high in the cup. My boobs are bottom heavy and I don't have enough to fill at the top. I could go down a cup size but then I may be too big for it in a few months so going to send than one back

The flexifit is comfortable and more like a bikini top kind of feel. No seams no wires so is comfy but the straps are the ones which strapless have which never feel secure? Anyway it fits which is the key so am going to keep it and hopefully will see me through a few months!

My boobs are quite tender at the moment so anything which keeps me comfortable is a big thumbs up!

Hi @TangBloodyFastic I had some cheapo ones from Amazon for sleeping in which are ok. I just got two Emma Jane seamless ones from ASOS which are a lot more supportive and comfy. Perhaps give them a go if you are still on the hunt!
