Hi all, had an early scan few days ago
My periods are very irregular so had no idea when last period was, I though I was further than 5 weeks but lady doing scan told me 5 weeks.

She could see a fetal pole 3.2mm but no heartbeat :( have to go back tomorrow for follow up scan anyone had this before and it all been ok???

You don't get heartbeat generally until 6 weeks, so sounds good for the time you're at! Unfortunately not much to say other than try to stay distracted and wait for the second scan. Are they doing hcg blood tests as well?

Well lady said I’m roughly 5 and half weeks so Iv been taking comfort thinking it was just too early and everything Iv ready says 6-7 for heart beat
Thanks 😊
I’m not sure tbh she just booked me into early pregnancy clinic and told me I needed a follow up scan

Well did you have blood taken? You'd have noticed I promise :o

Not at the scan no! I did at my first midwives appointment but not scan

I had an early scan due to bleeding. I was positive I was 6 weeks due to dates etc but the scan only showed a sac, no yolk or anything else and I was measuring 5 weeks. I was convinced that was it. They booked me back in 2 weeks later and there was a heartbeat! By my 12 week scan I had caught up and my dates were back matching with exactly as I'd thought they should be. Good luck with your next scan

Due to get results of those Wednesday

Aw I’m glad to hear it was good news for you!
Thank you :) I’m hoping all will be ok and it was just too early to find one 🤞

I went for a scan 2 weeks ago and there was only the gestational sac and the yolk sac, I was meant to be 6+1 and I was told to come back in 2 weeks as they couldn't confirm if the pregnancy was viable. I was so anxious and got in a right state for the 2 week wait but on Saturday we had another scan and baby was there with a strong heartbeat! They measured me at 3 days behind what I thought as it all depends when you actually conceived rather than LMP. It's a great sign you can see the Fetal pole I would think! Try not to worry I read lots of positive stories of the same thing happening when I was googling like mad!! 💕

Thanks guys reassuring hearing all your positive outcomes 😊😊

I know we shouldn’t google but it’s hard not to heheh! Iv been googling like mad also and read lots of positives too but can’t help me worrying thinking I could be the minority without the good outcome 😔

Honestly wouldn't worry OP! I was riddled with anxiety as I had a scan at 6 weeks and couldn't see anything but a yolk sac, had another scan today and seen baby and heartbeat clear as day at 9 weeks! You'll be fine - congratulations 🥳

Had exactly the same.

Irregularly periods so went in for a scan and all they could see was the sac and couldn't even confirm if a baby was there.

2 weeks later and a heartbeat was heard
